To start off, I will compare the founders of Buddhism and Confucianism. The founder of Buddhism was Siddhartha Gautama, later known as the Buddha. The Buddha was originally from a wealthy family who sheltered him from the reality of the outside world. The Buddha would eventually leave this life and find enlightenment after meditating underneath a fig tree for forty-nine days. The Buddha would then spread his wisdom to others throughout India until his death at the age of eighty. As for Confucianism, the founder is a man named Confucius. Confucius was a scholar born into a former aristocratic family. He eventually worked his way up to being a teacher and a government scholar. While the Way can be considered an intangible idea of how to live your life, others believe it is an omnipotent force that shapes all things and cannot be named. Confucianists believe the former, where they have a superior chance of achieving a better life through ritual. Daoists, however, trust in nonaction, in not interfering with nature, to have a better and longer life. Conversely, the Daoist idea can only hold true in an ideal society, since it would be hard to employ. I will argue that a Confucianist society is better, because it relies on action in a society, the use of virtue with rituals to learn, and the overall betterment of the self to create order in the community as a means of reaching Way.

Women in accent Egypt had equal and grater rights than any other civilization. The Egyptian women had many choices when it came to their lifestyle. Many of the women worked a high professional job, while still attending. what amazed me the most was that majority of the women had to raise their children and still maintain the household. The women were responsible for cleaning, cooking, tending to the needs of the family and the animals. They also, had to brew the beer for their husbands while still maintain their weekly business. These women seemed to me as if they were the man of the household. The women did majority of everything in the household and I don’t think that is fair for a lady.

To be a woman in any civilization is not an easy task. Even in today’s century woman keep having difficulties and differences with equality and rights. It is not surprising that those problems come from many centuries ago. The best ancient civilization to be a woman was Egypt. They treated women better than Roman Empire or Athens. That is why Egyptian woman became an example of female autonomy in society for other civilizations. Egyptians view women and family as a crucial fact for happiness and delight, they looked women as invidious with respect and not as objects like other civilizations.

While they both have similar aspect of philosophy and religion, at first seem to be polar opposites of each other. They seem like they have different ways of mediating about the way of living our lives. They are indeed quite the same meaning it’s just that they are focused in different point of views that is Confucians is focused on social and everyday life, while Taoism is mainly directed at growth within himself on achieving an inner desire.
