What Does Confucius Mean To Me

Confucianism has been a part of Chinese culture for over a thousand years. Many who have studied Confucianism would say that it is not a religion. It is better described as a philosophy or moral code. The philosophy of Confucianism comes mainly from the speeches and writings of Confucius, a great Chinese thinker and educator. He believed that Humanity, Rite, Neutrality, Virtue, Education, and Cultivation were the basis of human behavior. In addition, Confucius felt that this philosophy was the best way for people to behave and interact with others in society.

The quote teaches a valuable lesson too. The lesson it teaches later in life or sooner is that if you just wait, soon it will later happen, you must be patient and later something unremarkable and so valuable you would do outstanding, and once you do that it will or should remain a memory or it should.

This quote from Confucius, to me, applies to both myself and society as a whole. It bears relevance to all people as it is truthful, wise words to follow, and can even serve as a cautionary warning to the young and reckless like myself. Looking at it from really any perspective can prove the quote can be applied by any person, for any person can learn but not use the information, act without thinking, or live as they discover. I ,especially, feel it applies to myself as a person that stubbornly refuses to use information to positively affect myself more often than not.

I like your quote but I what find amazing about this quote, is the fact that it emphasizes how people who fail to learn will be condemned to repeat it. Becoming a teacher comes with many responsibilities which include making sure that a student is comprehending the material being taught. Every student it different, therefore every student learns differently and processes information differently. After reading and knowing more about the different learning styles I have come to the conclusion that I am an auditory learner. To this day I had never thought about the way I learned things, when it was time to study for a test I would just do whatever would help me remember the information.
