A syllabus is something very important in every class. You must read over it, and keep it close to you when referring to all class assignments. I find myself looking over a syllabus quite frequently in the first few weeks of class and highlighting what I feel to be important. While reviewing the syllabus for our honors English course, I found a number of things I feel I should highlight and keep in my mind at all times. The first one being, no book. This a huge advantage as books can be quite costly. I find myself to be a very organized individual who at times can become quite anxious if things are not in order. Therefore, I find great appreciation in the fact that all modules as well as weekly assignments are broken down for you to see. Continuing

I, Sara Samir, am interested in joining National English Honor Society (NEHS). Throughout my years at Calhoun, I have grown as student thanks to the wonderful English staff here. They have all helped me excel in several areas of English. With my accomplishments and grades in English throughout high school, and after completing a few more of the requirements, I feel that I am eligible to be considered to be part of NEHS.
I believe I would make a great candidate for the National English Honors Society because I share the beliefs of the mission statement in multiple ways. I have always loved literature and will remain interested in it. I believe in building a community of academic achievers as well as trying my best to be one. I try to excel in all that I do by maintaining high grades and also being part of the community outside of school. English has always been one of my favorite subjects and I am looking forward to sharing my love for English with others.
The first thing you need to do is get organized. Each one of your classes is going to expect you to stay on top of the information presented and handed out in class. Every one of your classes is going to expect you to keep on top of important
In the two sonnets, “Remember” by Christina Rossetti and “The Cross of Snow” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, the authors address death and remembrance indicating similarities when exploring grieving process but also demonstrate its differences through literary techniques. They both utilized symbolism, imagery, and metaphorical language but showed differences in tone.

I learned many new things from English 1102 class. It was not much fun but I learned some interesting things. For my research, I needed a topic that interests me. I first started to search topics from the chemistry field. I could not find any interesting topics then I came across an article that talks about how robots will take our jobs and every one would be jobless. After reading that article, I was really convinced that robots were bad for human society and people should be focusing on improving other fields such as medicine than wasting time and money in inventing a robot, which is one type of luxury and that, will take our jobs. So I chose this topic for my research. For further discussions, I started searching for some more article about robots not good for human society and I found that there was not much about the negative impact of robots in human society other than taking human jobs. So I was stuck but then I found an article that supports the robots. It was a good article and it explains how robots are useful in human society. The Article says that robots will create new jobs and benefit employers, government and disable people. I also found in one article saying that if robots will do our jobs humans can focus on bigger problems like finding cures for diseases, finding solution to prevent natural disasters and many more. Therefore, I decided to support the robot’s positive impact rather than supporting
In Honors English (3rd and 5th), ask students to turn in yesterday’s assignment. They have a test on “A Problem” today, so they should log into their pearson accounts online and take the test. I will check their scores and put them in Skyward asap. Once their test is finished please have them read pages 78-79 in the literature book. Their assignment is to read “Like the Sun” (pgs 80-84) and “The Open Window” (pgs 85-88). They should be looking for instances of paradoxes and irony during each reading. They need to complete the critical thinking questions on pages 84 and 88.

In English 1102 students will learn many different techniques throughout the course to understand and compose an analysis on an array of topics. After the course is over it is up to the students to apply what they have learned to everyday life. Many students throughout this course have questioned why they have to learn this material and that it will not even help them in the real world, but they are wrong. Each and everyday people should look at the deeper meaning and analyze situations very carefully or else one may find themselves being deceived. Being able to analyze is a very important skill no matter what career choice you choose. In this course the material assigned also had many life lessons in them. A great example of a reading assignment

After finishing the selection titled “Eighteen” by Maria Banus, I was completed surprised on how genuine the authors feelings were. Normally when I read poetry it is difficult to understand the meaning of numerous amount of it, if not all of the lines but this one was different as if it pertained to me. This poem made me feel rather sad and miserable because there are a lot of grievances that one may bring up about growing into an adult. Everyone always says how enjoyable your teenage years are, how invigorating the experience is to live life to the fullest and to enjoy it before it comes to end, but a lot of people may disagree. This analogy is incorrect to

Module 2 contained lots of very useful information that I can use in the future, If I ever become an instructor. I am glade that we had an extra week to digest all that information. At first when I read the chapter in the book, my head was spinning. Then I started to compartmentalize everything and things become much clearer. Bloom’s Taxonomy is something that I have to keep reviewing to fully understand. I think I got the hang of writing goals and objectives, especially after reading everyone’s posts and the corrections. Now regarding the the syllabus assignment, I think it was a great way to practice exploratory learning. At first I had difficulty finding a worthy syllabus online, especially because I got used to the high quality syllabi
