Middle School To High School Essay

Coming to this school made me change into a completely different person these last three years. My whole educational career I was always trying my hardest to be on the honor roll team and have the most perfect attendance. I never thought I would’ve ended up in the plight I’m at now as a graduating senior. There were many deterrents outside of the classroom that affected my performance in school, as it showed drastically in my grades as well as my attendance. In this essay I will be discussing those obstacles, who were involved, who helped me, and how I overcame them to finally get my high school diploma.

Coming into eighth grade can be exciting, scary and stressful at times you just need to learn how to deal with it. During this year you will meet some very nice teachers that will ask a lot out of you and push you to your limits for later on in life. This is also a good year to learn who your true friends are and find new ones.This year will also test your ability to get along and listen clearly to teachers and peers, because they all may have something that can lift you up and make your load easier. I will be giving you some tips about some teachers and the work ethic needed to survive junior high. I will also give you some tips to not so overwhelmed.

Although the first year of high school is a big transition, it’s crucial in determining the remaining years of high school because, First, having good grades will determine whether or not you get accepted the university you want and there are more opportunities for scholarships. Second, joining a club in high school will give you an insight in leadership and teamwork. Third, Slacking of your freshman year in high school is a bad thing to do because it will affect your senior year and all the classes you missed or failed, you will have to retake all of them. Lastly, all of these factors all come into play your senior year they can either help you or make your high school years miserable. First, having good grades in your freshman year will open up the doors to more opportunities coming your way. My freshman year wasn't the best I got D's and C's and almost failed two classes. Laziness played a big factor in why I got bad grades I was lazy to do homework and any projects. I had some advice from my cousin’s they would always tell me not to mess up freshman year, but, I ignored them and you start to pay for it senior year by retaking all those classes you failed. To get better grades I set up a planner and wrote down due dates and set up a time organizer at home and this helped me better organize my time to do the work. My advice to all new freshmen is to set up a work schedule for your work it will better your studying habits and make you aware of due dates and the time you

Another strategy, is reviewing your notes. I find that it’s easy to forget what we have wrote down. Reviewing your notes allows maximum recall of the material you write down. Recording the general main idea and details can be more useful than verbal notes. Notes serve to record information for recall and should show the main points of the lecture in an organized manner so that the relationship between points and details are easy to tell apart.

Firstly, it is important that you are respectful of your teachers and upperclassmen. Often, your class stops walking in the hallways and stands in large, loud groups. This results in others being late to class, an inconvenience for both students and teachers. You can also show respect by not shouting in the hallways. Talking to your friends between classes is reasonable, but yelling only causes

To get through life you need education; to get into college, to get a good job. The most important rules to a successful education are: focusing on what is important, not getting involved in drama, and knowing that you aren’t entitled to anything in life. If you stick to this, you’ll fly through high school, just as you did middle school.

Senioritis, or a crippling disease that strikes high school seniors as defined by Urban Dictionary. Symptoms of this disease could be laziness, a lack of studying, and repeated abscesses. What causes this disease you may ask? Well the answer is simple, twelve consistent years of the same classes just more sophisticated each year. When do you get the disease? Towards the second nine weeks in you senior year in high school. And who gets the disease? Well this is a great question, my opinion as to who gets this disease is that everyone gets it. It just depends who gets it worse. In my case it hit me hard, real hard. I tried my hardest all throughout high school. When it comes to homework… Do it timely. I know it’s usually not very fun, and Netflix is calling your name, but trust me on this one. I procrastinated and it stressed me out. Fairly, if you do all your schoolwork, the lesson is abruptly calmer. As much as we despise it, homework is there for a reason. Start assignments when you get them. I continuously did assignments the evening beforehand and it’s very demanding, so get them done!

Freshman Composition (EN101) is the first college course I have taken, it has certainly been one of the most challenging courses I have encountered. Initially, I was not going to enroll in EN101, figuring I did not have the skill set for this course; in fact, I was surprised by my growth and accomplishments in this course. While this course focuses on the transition from high school level writing to college level writing, my goal was to enhance the quality of my writing and to prepare myself for future courses. I can take the knowledge and skills I have obtained and use it for all my future courses as well. Also, these are life long skills that I will be able to utilize for any occasion in my future.

Matthieu navigated the challenges of Sophomore year extremely well. He has matured as a student. He noted on his year-end reflection that he now is more responsible about doing his homework and completes assignments and prepares more in advance than he has in the past. Matthieu is quite ready for taking on the challenge of a new academic setting next year.

Ever since I came to this school, I have been participating more, but there are times where they call on me and I don't respond or I just say I don't know.In middle school, I have been using to study for everything, now I haven't been studying as much.I haven't really been preparing myself before tests/quizzes but for the upcoming finals, I am going to be studying the most because for sure I don't want to be failing 9th grade.When I have a bad grade in a class, I will usually be asking for help or questions like how can I raise my grade up.I do that because I want the teachers to know that I'm a serious person and that I care about my grades.This is a bad year for me for turning in homework.I usually turn homework in late or I don't even turn it in time and that's a very bad habit.

I fall under a specific category, according to Niche.com’s article “Going Away to College: Data on 350,000 HS Grads” -- an article, which as the title suggests, studied over 300,000 -- that’s right -- 300,000. 58% of students that go to college stay within 100 miles of their home, and I will be attending Western Michigan University, which is 58 miles away from my childhood home, pink and red bricked. I received an offer to play softball at W.M.U., which is the most prominent reason I am going there. Besides softball, I chose to make Western my home for the four years after high school, because there are many degrees to choose from, there are many housing options, and there is a lot to do around

My favorite class is business writing. I like business writing because it's different from the other class. I don’t have stronger reason to hate this class. I have some reason why I like business writing so much. First of all, I have a lot of challenge in this class because It let me know ways how write a letter for apply job and interview job which each way it has many techniques that I need to practice hard to improve my writing skill and It requires me to know many vocabularies. In addition, the business writing class is an enjoyable class. I always feel comfortable when I attend business writing class which the class environment is quite good as a friends that always help me when I got in trouble or when I confuse about exercise or homework

To some, four years seems like a long time, but for me the past four years have flown by. In these quick four years, so much has changed and yet so much is exactly the same. You still go to school with most of the same people. You walk into the same familiar building and say hello to most of the same teachers. During these four years I have lost some friends, but I have gained real ones, which is one of the most important things to me. My outlook on life has changed. I have become a more open and understanding person and I have learned many valuable life lessons. I have made many great memories and I have learned to appreciate everything I have because nothing is permanent. My journey through high school is like a plane ride. It takes off freshman year and I go on a long, and sometimes bumpy, journey to get to my final destination. Even though in many ways I am still the same person as the one that walked through those school doors as a freshman, I have also changed in order to try to become the best version of myself and get to my final destination.
