Galileo showed that if there is no air friction, light and heavy objects that are dropping due to gravity will fall at the same rate. Suppose that this were not true and that instead heavy objects fall faster. Also suppose that the man in Figure 24.4 is twice as massive as the woman. What would happen? Would this violate the equivalence principle?
