Concept explainers
(Modified Account Class) Modify class Account (Fig. 3.8) to provide a member function called withdraw that withdraws money from an Account. Ensure that the withdrawal amount does not exceed the Account's balance. If it does, the balance should be left unchanged and the member function should display a message indicating "Withdrawal amount exceeded account balance." Modify class AccountTest (Fig. 3.9) to test member function withdraw.

- 1. (The Fan class) Design a class named Fan to represent a fan. The class contains: The Fan class Three constants named SLOW, MEDIUM, and FAST with the values 1, 2, and 3 to denote the fan speed. A private int data field named speed that specifies the speed of the fan (the default is SLOW). A private boolean data field named on that specifies whether the fan is on (the default is false). A private double data field named radius that specifies the radius of the fan (the default is 5). A string data field named color that specifies the color of the fan (the default is blue). Accessor and mutator methods for all four data fields. A no-arg Constructor that creates a default Fan. A method named toString() that returns a string description for the fan.arrow_forward13. What is the difference between a formal parameter and an argument? Group of answer choices A function’s argument is referred to as the formal argument to distinguish it from the value that is passed in during the function call. The parameter is the passed value. They are identical but using different terms. A function’s parameter is used for passing by reference. The argument is used for passing by value. A function’s parameter is referred to as the formal parameter to distinguish it from the value that is passed in during the function call. The argument is the passed value. A function’s parameter is used for passing by value. The argument is used for passing by reference.arrow_forward(Richer Shape Hierarchy) The world of shapes is much richer than the shapes included inthe inheritance hierarchy of Fig. 19.3. Write down all the shapes you can think of—both two-dimensional and three-dimensional—and form them into a more complete Shape hierarchy with asmany levels as possible. Your hierarchy should have the base class Shape from which class TwoDimensionalShape and class ThreeDimensionalShape are derived. [Note: You do not need to write any codefor this exercise.] We’ll use this hierarchy in the exercises of Chapter 20 to process a set of distinctshapes as objects of base-class Shape. (This technique, called polymorphism, is the subject ofChapter 20.)arrow_forward
- 1 - Nuclear Power Plant (python) The nuclear powerplant at Threeyedfish will automatically run a program to print a warning message when the reactor core becomes unstable. The warning message reads: NUCLEAR CORE UNSTABLE!!! Quarantine is in effect. Surrounding hamlets will be evacuated. Anti-radiationsuits and iodine pills are mandatory. Since the message contains crucial information, it should be printed three times. To do this, write a function that prints this message. This function has to be used three times.arrow_forward(The Person, Student, Employee, Faculty, and Staff classes) Design a class named Person and its two subclasses named Student and Employee. Make Faculty and Staff subclasses of Employee. A person has a name, address, phone number, and e-mail address. A student has a class status (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior). Define the status as a constant. An employee has an office, salary, and date hired. Use the MyDate class defined in Programming Exercise 10.14 – see the textbook - to create an object for date hired. A faculty member has office hours and a rank. A staff member has a title. Override the toString method in each class to display the class name and the person's name. Draw the UML diagram for the classes and implement them. Write a test program that creates a Person, Student, Employee, Faculty, and Staff, and invokes their toString() methods.arrow_forwardPlease fill in the blanks for the following statements: The class function with no return type that is used to initialize data members is called the __________________________.arrow_forward

All attributes should not be accessed directly. One can view the details of all students. Note student attributes can not be changed by anymeans after initialization. A PieceWorker represents an employee whose pay is based on the number of pieces of merchandise produced. Hourlyworkers receive overtime pay (1.5 times the hourly wage) for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours.Class PieceWorker should contain private instance variables wage (to store the employee’swage per piece) and pieces (to store the number of pieces produced).
