Chapter 14, Problem 10SQ
Summary Introduction
To determine: The two domains that contain prokaryotic organisms in the three domain system.
Introduction: In the late 20th century, molecular studies and cladistics resulted in the three domain system that classified organisms based on their function, structure, biochemical, and molecular composition. The two major domains are prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The study of their cells revealed the differences in these both domains. The organisms lacking a nucleus in their cells were included in prokaryotes and the organisms with a true nucleus in their cells were included in eukaryotes.
