Chapter 10, Problem 10.14P
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
The list of organic compound present in immediate environment should be determined.
Concept Introduction:
Organic compounds are the substances containing most commonly carbon atoms bonded in covalent bonds with other atoms like hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen etc. The presence of organic compounds is everywhere and surrounds us in many substances. Earth’s crust contains carbon in group of element which is only present as 0.9% in it.

C6H14 has 5 structural isomers
C7H16 has 9 structural isomers.
I get what a structural isomer is, but when I see a statement like the 3 statements above, I wonder if there is a way I can figure out how many structural isomers something has? I'm in CHEM 2. We didnt talk about that but when I see a slide he has telling me this, and I am wondering what to take from the slide...hmmm.
The word "organic" means something very different in chemistry than it does when you're talking about produce and food. Organic compounds and inorganic compounds form the basis of chemistry.
