Who is Responsible for the Death of Romeo and Juliet?

In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare the characters Lord Capulet, Friar Laurence, and Tybalt are the ones to blame for the tragic ending. The first reasons are, Lord Capulet does not support Juliet. Friar Laurence married Romeo and Juliet in secret. Tybalt killed Mercutio; Romeo killed Tybalt so the feud got worse. In Act 3, scene 1, line 88 Mercutio says, “I am hurt.” Romeo tried to break up the fight between Mercutio and Tybalt. Mercutio got stabbed by Tybalt in the chest.

There are many people contributed to Romeo and Juliet’s Death. First, the main person to contribute their death was Lord Capulet.. Juliet help cause her own death. Lastly, Tybalt is contributing by getting in a fight with Mercutio, which leads to fighting with Romeo.These three people caused Romeo and Juliet’s death, Lord Capulet, Juliet, and Romeo.

In this essay I will be writing about William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, I will be doing an in-depth analysis as to who I think is most to blame for the sad eventual deaths of Romeo and Juliet, analysing each character in detail.

The deaths of Romeo and Juliet is to be blamed on friar Laurence, who is a priest, Tybalt, and Romeo. According to the text, the priest marries them and Tybalt kills Mercutio. The deaths of Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t have happened if they hadn’t made everything a big deal. As you can see, the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are to be blamed on friar Laurence and Tybalt.

Now to start off with Juliet's death, I am convinced that Lord Capulet was also responsible for her death, because she disobeyed him. An argument that might occur would be, "Do you really think Capulet would kill his own daughter?" Yes, if she pushed him far enough( which she did) then I personally think he would. She pushed him to far by disobeying him, by not wanting to marry Paris, and by faking a false death just so she could see Romeo. The last person to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet, is Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet. In the beginning of the story, a young man named Paris wishes to marry Juliet, but Lord Capulet says,

The only people responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death are Romeo and Juliet. That is, because of their impatience and ignorance. (Although I do believe some other characters are at fault, I am only doing Romeo for this essay.) Things would have been so different if they had just waited five minutes. For example, if Romeo had waited for Friar Lawrence to arrive and explain what’s going on, before fighting with Paris and killing himself, he would have seen Juliet alive.

In the story of Romeo and Juliet, There will be a total of six deaths, which all fall into the hands of Tybalt's bad judgement dealing with Romeo's love for Juliet. Tybalt knew exactly what he was getting himself into, so if he would have backed away from Romeo, everything would be alright and Romeo and Juliet would still be together. Even though Mercutio stuck up for Romeo, Tybalt would have eventually got back at Romeo when there was nobody around to fight Tybalt. In the story, it is clear that Tybalt thinks highly of himself and he is not afraid to fight anybody that gets in his way and he was not going to let Romeo Marry his cousin, Juliet.

A tragic play is incomplete without a devastating end. In the play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, two star-crossed lovers take their own lives out of love and desperation. An unfortunate chain of events leads to their passing, leaving many culprits to blame. The banishment of Romeo, the unsent letter, and the risky plan concocted by Friar Lawrence are all events that contributed, but ultimately, the blame lies with one person.
