Who is at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet ? William Shakespeare love and a secret marriage force the young lovers to grow up quickly and fate causes them to commit suicide in silents. Three characters who are most responsible for the tragic ending of the play are Friar, parents of Romeo & Juliet, and the drug seller. Friar was one of the three people to blame for Romeo and Juliet deaths because he encouraged Juliet to poison herself to trick her family into thinking she was dead. The only reason he married the two was that he thought it would put an end to the two families fighting. Friar said in Act 2 scene 3 “But come young waverer, come go with me in one respect I'll thy assistant be for alliance may so happy prove to turn your households rancour to pure love.” He trusted someone else with a letter of important information to deliver to Romeo. No one supported them wanting to be together so they didn't it on their own.They had strict demands of what she will do with her life and who she will marry. She didn't have freedom of her own. Juliet's parents led to her fake death of no freedom and always demanding. They threaten to disown her if she didn't marry Paris. They argued with each other so it would've been easy done if they got along with another. In Act 4 , Scene 1 , “In the meantime , against thou shalt awake Shall Romeo by my letters know drift And hither shall he come and he and i will watch thy waking and that very night shall Romeo bear thee hence to Mantua.” Evidence that the friar was going to give a letter to Romeo to inform him about the running away with
