Some people doubt the efficiency of online courses since they think it’s harder to focus on online courses such as videos than normal courses. There is a report published from The U.S. Department of Educational and Riesinger (2017) states “this study said that classes which include online components showed better learning outcomes than those with purely face-to-face instruction.” It means that it’s doesn’t matter whether people learn from online or not. If students really want to learn, they will find some ways or try to adapt different types of courses. On the other hand, there are other people think online courses are individual class which is lack of communication. But, this question is gradually solved by platform or chatroom that students can discuss or ask questions. Therefore, online courses have more advantages than
Learning to me is allowing your brain to receive information and then applying in to your life experiences. I feel like face to face learning is better, however, online is more convenient. I prefer face to face because it offers a more personal relationship with your classmates and your professor. Although it is not practical for my life, I do wish I could attend classes in a regular environment. Online provides me that much needed space and opportunity to move at my own pace. Now that I have taken this class, I know that while I am receiving information I will be more aware of the information being delivered because I will now be more intentional with receiving the information.
Online school normally allows students to view things as many times as they need while at traditional school, students can only review the thing they are learning once. Also, if students at an online school get busy with anything else, or need longer to do an assignment than what amount of time would be given at a traditional school, then they can still finish the assignment as well as they could with their extra time. Also, students can work at their own pace to get work done. Some students need more time to get some things done. If they do online school, they will have almost as much time as they need throughout a certain amount of time. Students can review anything they need to as many times as they need to fully comprehend what they are learning. Some students need to view things many times to fully
Contrary to what some may believe, online learning doesn't equate to less work nor are the standards any lower than what one would expect from a traditional classroom environment. Online learning simply refers to the way in which the content
There are others, like myself, who feel that online learning is better. The supporters of this back their claim by stating that online classes can be more beneficial for teachers and students. For example, fewer distractions in a classroom like other students disrupting class. Students can come into class late after the teacher has already started class and cause a disruption or talk during the class. With online classes the student can control their environment. Also, a teacher can provide in writing just the basic information a student needs for an assignment. This way there is less of a chance for the student to get confused on the assignment when the topic
First, they might not be as effective as regular school.Online courses are not being monitored closely enough by the government. This means they could not be doing their work or they could be cheating. Studies that show online learning is as effective are not reliable. The results show for only some classes taken
When you learn in an online classroom you have the flexibility, and convenience of when you are able do your work before its due date. In some online class you have the opportunity to go at your own pace just as long as the work is submitted at the last day of the class. Online learning is good for the adults that have busy schedules such as children, wives or husbands, and busy work schedules.Online learning do have its down falls when it comes to communication. For some students its hardier for them to learn on their own. Even though the teachers give you the tools to succeed its up to the student to take the time out, and understand the material. You do not have the experience of that one on one time like you would in the traditional
When a person thinks of someone going to college they probably imagine them walking across a large campus or sitting in a lecture hall among other students. While this is the way many people do choose to attend college, there are also those who have chosen to get their degree in an online setting. Online learning gives people the opportunity to get their education in a way that is more flexible and can fit in with their daily lives. Though both are reputable forms of higher educations, there are distinct differences between learning in a tradition classroom and learning in an online setting.
All and all, with online learning having great flexibility and the traditional classroom having immediate interaction with the professor and students, which ever one an individual chooses to learn each one has their perks to get the best education for future enhancement. I personally chose online because of my busy schedule and I think it was the best decision to make to further my education.
As modern as online education is, does it offer any benefits, academically or otherwise, to participating students? Many institutions have conducted studies to answer this very question. The results appear to suggest that in
However, learning online is totally a different ball game. When learning online most of the time there is no test or quizzes involved, you work at your own pace, and the only material you will need is your computer. Working at your own pace helps because, it allows you to work ahead and complete your assignments according to your own schedule and not having to wait on your instructor. A great advantage to learning online is, not having to travel to a physical classroom. Your work is available at any time of the day. Everything I needed was in my computer so I didn’t have to keep up with any material or purchase any. However, learning online, helps you to focus more with fewer distractions around you, but leaves you limitless to help when you need it.
“The biggest difference is in the form it takes, with many online student interactions happening via video chat or through online discussion posts.” Although social interaction may be the biggest difference between online and face to face learning, online learning does not help develop effective communication skills because you are not talking to a person, you are talking to a screen. According to Potomac University, a research stated that online classes save students an about $50,000 dollars. Online learning may be cheaper, but face to face learning is still better quality than online learning. In spite of the fact that online courses save students a lot of money, face to face learning is still worth it. It is worth it because face to face learning puts students in a good learning environment. The other online courses make students stare at a screen for a whole hour. Online learning is better than face to face learning. Although traditional learning is better quality than online learning, online learning is more
Online education is helping many students get a better education. This can be for many reasons. Some reasons could include things like a more flexible schedule. Of course their are some that believe that online schools are not a good option because they do not offer students face to face time with teachers, but online schools can be a great way to educate the children of tomorrow because it allows for students in rural areas to get the same education as somebody in the city and the flexible nature of online school allows students to have more time to be with their family, friends and to do the activities they love.
One of the chief drawing cards for me that draw me to take online classes was the ability to ask questions and interact in learning with the teacher without fear of classmate making fun of me because of my speech pattern or being shy asking question. I can ask and obtain the solution right away without facing the teacher. In addition, I have the ability to go rearward to a lecture and review it several times online and this is really helpful because my difficulty some time understanding what is being said since the English is my second language.
I believe the major difference between learning in a traditional classroom versus an online environment is flexibility. In traditional classrooms, they provide a structured environment in which one learns. The student shows up at a particular time; the instructor presents the information, the student takes the information and tests to see whether he or she retained the information. (Chambers, 2016)
