Adapting Communications Skills
There are times when we need to adapt our communication style to meeting the needs of individuals and use aids to help them enhance their communication.
Explain how you would adapt and support the following persons to communicate:

P3,Whatever job you want you need skills and qualities for it, this helps you with your job without this it would make it hard to know what you're doing and hard to adapt to the job. Nursery teachers look after young children from 3 years old to 5 years old.
The assessment process is the back bone to any package of care and it is vital that it is personal and appropriate to the individual concerned. Although studies have found that there is no singular theory or understanding as to what the purpose of assessment is, there are different approaches and forms of assessment carried out in health and social care. These different approaches can sometimes result in different outcomes.
Simple changes as everyone using the same mugs and staff having drinks at the same time as people who use the service.
Before I proceed with Mr H's care I check his care plan where it is documented how he likes to be communicated with. Any changes to Mr H's communication ability should be reported and documented straight onto a daily diary sheet and into his careplan where other staff members are able to see the changes noted.
In this essay I will be explaining how I use good communication and interpersonal interactions with the residents I will meet on my work experience at a residential home for older people. I will be explaining the skills and strategies I will use to make communication making sure it is effective. My essay will talk about different types of communication for example one to one, with different types of people, including professionals and service users. I will use communication with a variety of people and consider the most appropriate form of communication to be applied making sure the needs of all individuals are met. Some of our service users have poor speech or no speech at all. With these service users an alternative form of communication is required or an ability to listen intently and comprehend what they are saying.
To communicate effectivley all of this must be taken into account. If communication needs are not taken into account, problems will begin to arise such as distress to the client, anger/frustrating leading to possible violence and the client not recieving adequate care.
Disability- many people suffer from discrimination when they have a disability. This is because they are different from others and can not physically do the things others can. This leaves them left out, not been able to socialize and feeling upset. For example if there was a man in a wheel chair in an office with his work colleges and everyone ignored him because he was different this would be discrimination.
By improved communication – by trying to understand the individual and taking the time to listen and for them to get their point across.

Over the year both positive and negative influences have influenced my learning. The skill I have developed for learning is my aspiration is to become a midwife, this influences my learning in the way that it gives me the hunger to learn new things and improve my knowledge and grades. By improving my knowledge I will be able to go onto the next stage of my development. I believe that if I did not have such a desire to be a midwife, it would affect my learning by creating a mental blockage which would stop my ability to take things in and learn as I would become lazy and not interested from the lack of direction in my life.
