P1
We live in a society that is very unequal, in a way that people get treated differently depending on their social class, race or gender. Social inequality means the situation in which individual groups in a society do not have equal social status, social class or social circle. Clear boundaries in society are made that prevents

Depending on where you live and how much your income is you may live a healthier and longer live . Richer people may look down and discriminate against poorer individuals.
Religion- individuals have different aspects and views on religion. People may think others are wrong about who/what they worship. This problem can lead to prejudice, stereotyping and discrimination. People think of Christians as older people that have got nothing else better to do, when in fact the age varies. This is classed as stereotyping, assuming someone’s something when there not.
Disability- many people suffer from discrimination when they have a disability. This is because they are different from others and can not physically do the things others can. This leaves them left out, not been able to socialize and feeling upset. For example if there was a man in a wheel chair in an office with his work colleges and everyone ignored him because he was different this would be discrimination.

Social inequality refers to the ways in which socially defined categories of persons. Unequal society has a big impact on individuals. There are different ways in how you can discriminate against someone this includes stereotyping. Stereotyping is were an individual is labelled as a certain person, or put into a certain group. For example a group of teenagers on the streets wearing hoodies, people would presume they were out to cause trouble.
I never put much thought into social inequality because of two main reasons, which are that I see every as equals and believe we should be treated as such and because I come from the privileged ethnicity/race group. At first, I believed that prejudice, discrimination, and privilege were terms used to describe a past where every viewed themselves as superior or inferior to one another just because the color of their skin. Nevertheless, after watching White Like Me by Tim Wise, I now understand that social inequality and racism, although not as severe as in the past, still exists today.

Over the year both positive and negative influences have influenced my learning. The skill I have developed for learning is my aspiration is to become a midwife, this influences my learning in the way that it gives me the hunger to learn new things and improve my knowledge and grades. By improving my knowledge I will be able to go onto the next stage of my development. I believe that if I did not have such a desire to be a midwife, it would affect my learning by creating a mental blockage which would stop my ability to take things in and learn as I would become lazy and not interested from the lack of direction in my life. As soon as I realised what I wanted to do as a career, it really highlighted my priorities and I found that I have

Social inequality can practically be made apparent at any moment of someone’s life – whether at work or school amongst peers or simply watching the news in the morning. According to Dalton Conley, social inequality is narrowly defined as “a condition in which a difference in wealth, power, prestige, or status based on nonnatural conventions exist” (2017 p.241). Moreover, social inequality is a process whereby society can determine how a class of people is expected to coexist within predetermined social, political, and economic boundaries. The affected class will live within the predefined constraints, and the affected class will then pass the predefined constraints on to future generations. It is imperative to understand that social inequality is a result of social stratification, which according to
Inequality is when something or someone is not being equally. There are a lot of inequalities everywhere. There are gender inequality; there are inequalities towards the LGBTQ commnunity, and there are racial inequalities too. Racial Inequality is something that can be
Social inequality results from a society that is structured by hierarchy of different class, race, and gender. It is mostly distinguished by the inequality of income and access to educational resources plus the discrimination at individuals of color, immigrants, and sexual orientation. The textbook states an example of an African American Girl who is eager to go to college, but lacks the financial resources plus the right support system to apply to different universities. In this case the first agent is her family who does not encourage her to pursue a higher education.
Social Inequality Social Inequality has been here for many years, as long as the 50´s until now. In this book To Kill a Mockingbird you will see a lot of social Inequality. Harper Lee Shows how race and gender were like in the 60´s. In this story I will be talking about race, gender, and social inequality from today.
Inequality an unfair situation in which some people have more rights or better opportunities than others. There are many forms of inequality. These can be based on gender, education, social economic factors and racism. Today I will focus on racism.
The USA, the so called land of "freedom", during the latest years have become an idea, perhaps even a myth. Not everyone is looked the same way, to the eyes of Americans. In this land what matter is the look and tone of the skin, instead of someone background or accomplishments. A country in which everyone is put into an either upper or middle class or even into a low class, which is considered to be living on poverty. A country in where also minorities such as African Americans, Asians, Latinos, Middle Easterners, etc., is something that may or may not give some special privileges over others. However what does "inequality" really means to our society? The dictionary define it as the difference in size, degree, circumstances, etc. Sociology define it as the existence of unequal opportunities and rewards for different social positions or statuses within a group or society. May be there is even much more definitions that we can give, that perhaps is why inequality is not well known to everyone, even do there is a small percent of knowledge towards that word. In the hope of trying to explain what does it really means inequality for all of us. A film named "Inequality for All" was produced.
What is inequality? It is the difference or variation in size, amount, rank, quality, social position or the fact that one group is more privileged than the other, or it can be based on the unequal opportunity of certain groups on the society. Based on the book ‘’social problems’’ by John J. Macionis, he said that there is an unequal distribution of economic resources, which means that one part of the population has more they suppose to have that the other part does not have enough to support itself. Since 1970s, economic inequality has increased in the United States. In particular, the rich have gotten a lot richer. Economic inequality affects the society and the youth in several ways. Income inequality can lead to the downfall of the country's economy, or it can make it difficult for poor members of the
Social Inequality; as defined by sociologists is the unequal opportunities of different social statuses and positions within a group of individuals or in society. The opportunities we receive, our wealth, our rewards, and our punishments, can all be influenced because of our positions we hold in society today. Remember the saying “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer”, why is this? It’s all because of inequality, there is no fairness when it comes to opportunities, employment, housing, etc. and it is in fact evident. After reading the article, “Race and Gender Discrimination, Contemporary Trends” there were many trends that I would of liked to discuss in my reflection, however the two trends that I found to be importantly associated with social inequality is the percentage of people who deny racial discrimination against people of color and the belief that blacks and whites have the same standard of living.
Social inequality used to be a problem about 150 years ago in the United States. In the 1800s, soldiers fought for the basic rights of African-Americans in the Civil War. Before that, our soldiers fought for our rights in the Revolutionary War. An example of social inequality is in Mexico where people are treated differently whether they are light or dark brown. Research shows
A social inequality is the presence of unequal opportunities for members of a society, and is typically linked to gender inequality and race inequality (Rugaber & Boak, 2014). In the United States, social class is often a product of economic class and, sadly, sometimes race. For example, we generally see that wealthy, white males acquire a higher status than most females or people of color. Some argue that these inequalities are detrimental to our society, but according to the functionalist view, social inequalities are necessary to keep our society balanced. Often times these inequalities are reflected in movies and television shows but can be grossly exaggerated, thus contributing to the stereotypes our society has become numb to.
Social inequality is basically considered to be an unfair distribution of resources among people in a society. Inequality among people based on gender, sex, religion, race, color, ethnicity was in our society for over a prolonged period but was not dealt with. It's basically come into play when people try to consider their beliefs and viewpoints as superior to other rather than respecting everyone's belief. People often try to make certain notions of what normal is and then try to look at situations using that criterion that is not correct. Everyone is unique in their own way and have diverse ways to look at something. As the only sociologist on the North American Council, I will try to highlight the most important social inequalities that need to be addressed immediately. According to me the three social inequalities that need to be addressed are Sexuality and gender inequality, Class inequality, and Ethnic Inequality.
