As the play continued, Friar Laurence had provided dangerous medicine to Juliet, leading to Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. If he had stayed there longer without taking the poison he had obtained from Apothecary they both would not have killed themselves. He brought the poison to the tomb to end his own life next to Juliet after seeing for himself if she was really dead. Romeo did not want to live without Juliet.
