The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Teko’a, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzzi’ah 2 Kgs. 15.1-7 · 2 Chr. 26.1-23 king of Judah, and in the days of Jerobo’am 2 Kgs. 14.23-29 the son of Jo’ash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake. |

¶ And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; Joel 3.16 and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither. |

¶ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, Is. 17.1-3 · Jer. 49.23-27 · Zech. 9.1 and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gil’e-ad with threshing instruments of iron: |

but I will send a fire into the house of Haz’a-el, which shall devour the palaces of Ben–ha’dad. |
5 |
I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: 1 and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD. |

¶ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom: |
7 |
but I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof: |
8 |
and I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ash’kelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines Is. 14.29-31 · Jer. 47.1-7 · Ezek. 25.15-17 · Joel 3.4-8 · 2.4-7 · Zech. 9.5-7 shall perish, saith the Lord GOD. |

¶ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, Is. 23.1-18 · Ezek. 26.1—28.19 · Joel 3.4-8 · Zech. 9.1-4 · Mt. 11.21, 22 · Lk. 10.13, 14 and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant: |

¶ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, Is. 34.5-17 ; 63.1-6 · Jer. 49.7-22 · Ezek. 25.12-14 ; 35.1-15 · 1.14 · Mal. 1.2-5 and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever: |

but I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah. |

¶ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, Jer. 49.1-6 · Ezek. 21.28-32 ; 25.1-7 · 2.8-11 and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child, of Gil’e-ad, that they might enlarge their border: |

but I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind: |
15 |
and their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD. |
