Chapter 40.1, Problem 1R
Summary Introduction

To review:

The reason behind the rapid effects of hormone epinephrine as compared to the estrogen hormone.

Introduction:

Various signals act in the body to coordinate different physiological activities. Hormones are proteinaceous in nature, which act as signaling molecules by entering into the blood-stream. Being proteinaceous in nature, they act by binding to the receptors, present inside or out on the surface of the cell.

Estrogen hormone is a sex hormone, primarily present in females. Estrogen is required to develop secondary sex characters in the females. Epinephrine is an amine hormone and is also called as a flight-or-fight hormone.
