Chapter 36.2, Problem 1SB
Summary Introduction

To review:

The biological role of the flowers and the fundamental shift that occurs before angiosperm can produce a flower.

Introduction:

The flowering plants such as angiosperms reproduce by pollination. Flowers are developed from a receptacle, that is, the end of the floral shoot. A typical flower constitutes four whorls: calyx (sepals), corolla (petals), androecium (stamen), and gynoecium (carpel). The stamen consists of a filament and a bilobed anther containing four pollen sacs. The carpel consists of style, stigma, ovule, and ovary.
