Virtual memory:

The virtual memory addresses additional memory space in the system that enables the operating system to provide an extra capacity of managing memory spaces. It is basically a conceptual segregation of user logical memory from main memory that helps a system to enhance it storage capacity of main memory.

Virtual memory stores the large programs in form of pages and document in the additional space and executes these same portions of processes into the main memory (physical memory) as per requirement.

Virtual memory uses a portion of secondary storage devices such as hard drive, USB and tape drive etc and act as primary storage (RAM). A computer system with virtual memory is able to run multiple programs and can larger program at the same time...
