Concept introduction:

The animal kingdom is majorly divided into two wide categories that are vertebrates and invertebrates.  The vertebrates are those animals which possess the backbone in their anatomy such as mammals, fish and reptiles. Whereas the invertebrates are the organisms which lack the backbone, such as insects, worms, crabs and so on.
