Summary Introduction

In general, eukaryotic microbes are larger and structurally highly complex compared to prokaryotes. Eukaryotic microbes include the protozoa, the algae, the fungi, and several other protists. Cellular membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm are the three major components of a cell. Organelles are structures present within a cell and are specialized to perform a particular metabolic task essential for the survival of the cell. Organelles present in eukaryotes include Golgi complex, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, microfilaments and microtubules, and lysosomes.
