Concept explainers
Create a ticket machine with a ticket price of your choosing. Before doing anything else, call the getBalance method on it. Now call the insertMoney method (Code 2.6) and give a non-zero positive amount of money as the actual parameter. Now call getBalance again. The two calls to getBalance should show different outputs, because the call to insertMoney had the effect of changing the machine's state via its balance field.

- Write a method that takes two string parameters, and tells whether the first is a substring of the second. You can't use framework methods that do this for you, such as indexOf(). In other words, you have to write the loops yourself. But, you can use the primitive methods such as charAt(). Also analyze the program's performance and state the big-O complexity of your method. Provide a screenshot of the code working.arrow_forwardAdd a constructor to the Point class that accepts another Point as a parameter and initializes this new Point to have the same (x, y) values. Use the keyword this in your solution.arrow_forwardPredict what you think will happen if you change the test in insertMoney to use the greater-than or equal-to operator: if(amount >= 0) Check your predictions by running some tests. What is the one situation in which it makes a difference to the behavior of the method?arrow_forward
- Create another ticket machine for tickets of a different price; remember that you have to supply this value when you create the machine object. Buy a ticket from that machine. Does the printed ticket look any different from those printed by the first machine?arrow_forward.If the name of getBalance is changed to getAmount, does the return statement in the body of the method also need to be changed for the code to compile? Try it out within BlueJ. What does this tell you about the name of an accessor method and the name of the field associated with it?arrow_forwardExamine the getBalance method's header and body, and then evaluate how they stack up against those of the getPrice method. I'm confused as to the differences between the two.arrow_forward
- Complete the following code. Attach the simulation too.arrow_forwardA passenger van can be configured with different seating capacities, up to a maximum capacity (the default). Provide a "seats" property with methods for getting and setting the currently configured number of seats. Reject efforts to set an improper number of seats. Not all lines are useful.arrow_forwardYou are to implement removeHead, and removeTail and you also have to create the following functions (for visual purposes of the detail explanation, header and trailer sentinels are described as h and t respectively): IMPORTANT NOTE: For all the methods that has the pos parameter i.e. addAt, removeAt, move, make sure to access that specified position from whichever is nearer - the head or the tail - similar to what we have done in the get method. Example DoublyLinkedList: h <-> 10 <-> 30 <-> 40 <-> 50 <-> t int add(int num) This will add the element num into the last element of the linked list and return the position of the newly-added element. In the above example, having add(60) will return 5 as it is the fifth position in the list. int remove(int num) This will remove the first instance of the element and return the position of the removed element. In the above example, having remove(40) will return 3 as 40 was the third element in the linked list…arrow_forward
- Thank you much. The code doesn't return the right answers for the test cases. Is there a way to fix?arrow_forwardI need to figure out how to call a method that is located in a different class. For example, I am trying to make a tax calculator that multiplies a payers income by a corporate rate. However, I cannot figure out how to call the income method. Nothing I have tried is working. Is there any chance you can guide me? I am just trying to make this equation work. Is there something else that is stopping this from working?arrow_forwardthe answer dose not include the main method. Write a main method inside the LibraryManagementSystem class, create a menu system that allows the Librarian input commands to interact with the system. Below is the menu system that students should aim to recreate. Give an appropriate message after each action to notify the Librarian if an action was successful. Make use of the toString() to print the Book objects.arrow_forward
