Question
Chapter 11, Problem 11.76PAE
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
A politician has proposed that air quality monitoring only needs to be carried out in cities with 500,000 or more people, in hopes of saving money. It should be stated whether loss of monitoring capability in more rural areas could cause any possible consequences for understanding air quality.
Concept introduction:
Air quality can be determined both indoors and outdoors. Indoor air is more concentrated with harmful air than outdoor. It is an important environmental parameter for recognizing harmful levels of pollutants in air which can cause harmful effects.

When ozone levels in urban area reach unhealthy levels, residents are typically urged to avoid refuelingtheir cars during daylight hours. Explain how this might help to reduce smog formation?
Suppose you have an 8-hour ozone value of 0.088 ppm, and a PM2.5 value of 35.7 ug/m3. The AQI value is Blank 1 and the
responsible pollutant is Blank 2. According to the AQI scale, this falls under the category Blank 3.
