Concept introduction: The concentration of enzymes is useful for obtaining information about a heart attack. The blood levels of the three enzymes commonly assayed in heart attack situation are: creatine phosphokinase (CPK), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH).
