By not giving out homework, students will work harder in class and have better grades. Teachers have to understand that if students are tired from late nights, they wouldn't be able to work efficiently during the day. In addition, students would be much more excited to come to school because they know they wouldn't have to worry about getting any homework. In 2010, a survey was taken and it showed that about 70% of teen ages 11 to 17 get less than 8 hours of sleep per day due to the amount of homework they have to do (Logos). Is homework more trouble than it is worth? Many students would say it is. Often times, students will work on homework for several hours a day and produce no results. The concept of homework was created to help students with their schoolwork. Getting extra work for home allows students to truly understand what they learned during the day. It is additional practice for students and will help prepare them for tests and exams. Homework also teaches children important life skills such as responsibility and perseverance. Students will have to be responsible to get their homework done on time and with good quality. Even when students don’t want to do homework, it teaches them perseverance by helping them understand that some things that they don’t like will ultimately benefit them in the long run. These reasons, and more, all prove that homework shouldn’t be banned or
Homework limits sleep, social life, and causes loads of stress. There’s no time for kids to spend with their family and friends, or do the things they love. Homework is meaningless. Despite its advantages on learning, it is taking its toll on individuals who contribute to it. These individuals are the trio known as the students, the parents, and the teachers. One of the characteristics that they have in common is that they all coherently partake in the learning environment: teachers assign homework, students do the homework, and parents communicate with their child and teachers. This symbiotic relationship takes proper communication and collaboration. It is essentially a team effort. No student, parent, nor teacher should work by themselves. Therefore, they all need each other for student success. Without proper communication, there would be lower academic performance. Students go to school to
