Why is it important to follow directions? It is important to follow direction because if people didn’t follow directions, we would have a lot of raucous. The reason why we would have raucous is because kids would have an even more high risk of doing drugs at really young ages and a more higher risk of homeless people, more deaths from walking streets unintended, and more. Every setting should have established rules and boundaries for children’s and young people’s behavior. It is important when in a school setting that all staff consistently and fairly apply rules and boundaries for children and refer to the policies and procedures that are put into place. It is important that these rules and boundaries are followed from a young age and that the rules should be age appropriate.
These rules are displayed throughout the school and are referred to continuously by staff and children equally. We also have class rules that have been developed by the children themselves and are a positive device for encouraging good behaviour.
