Do you think we should have homework? Homework may help us practice but it’s not important as you think it is. If you think homework is important and teachers should give it to us I am going to try and change your mind about that. Some teachers believe that homework is good because it makes us think more, and a strong knowledge. But, if you really think about it, it cuts into our child hood life. Kids like to go outside and play with their friends. So why should we get homework? If you were a teacher, would you give your students homework? If so why? I believe that we have enough class work, quizzes, and test. Homework is extra. It’s unnecessary for students to have homework. At my school I don’t really get a lot of homework. I get the most
Despite bearing some minor similarities, the differences between the arguments for more or less homework are remarkable. It is important to see both the positive and negative viewpoints, because homework is something that every student will have to deal with. It can be stressful with extracurricular activities and at some points may seem useless. However, homework is beneficial for understanding the material, and keeping kids out of trouble. Overall, I believe that even though homework may be excessive at some points, it can be extremely beneficial for the future.
“Homework is arguably the worst punishment inflicted upon the student body.” One would think this extreme statement would come from the 10-year boys and girls who complain to their parents about the homework they have to complete. However, Rodney Jones starts of his argument against homework using this statement. He argues that homework does not help children taking up all their time. Continuing, he explains how parents should extend child’s knowledge out of school instead of homework and in the end these assignments do not help students grade. However, in contrast of Jones’ beliefs homework indeed benefits children’s learning through the small amounts of extra practice it gives to help the students excel.
In The Battle 0ver Homework, Harris Cooper defines homework as, “tasks assigned to students by school teachers that are intended to be carried out during non-school hours” (27) Common homework assignments might include reading, writing, problems to solve, a school project, or other skills to be practiced. The purpose of homework is to assist in reinforcing what was taught in class. Sometimes the purpose is to gather extra information beyond what was taught that day. There are many teachers who don’t understand the meaning of homework and just give it as something to keep students busy. Homework should be given to students on a regular basis but only in reasonable amounts.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get home, study a little, and just relax? Well most students have to deal with hours of homework when they get home from school. When I get home, I would rather do a little homework, relax, and spend time with my family. Not spend the rest of the day doing homework, when you already have 7 hours of school. I believe that giving homework is crucial to students who want to have a life outside of school.
Many kids around the world think that schools should ban homework. I think that homework is not benifical for students who don’t need it. Why? One, sometimes not necassary homework can cause stress on kids wich could lead to health issuses. Two, when homework isn’t benifical for students it takes away time from other important things.
Ever wonder why we need homework in middle school when it just takes up our time? To most people world wide homework just takes time away from thier video games and social media, but to others homework helps them understand a topic more clearly. Now that we are in middle school more and more people think that teachers should stop giving out homework.
I support the use of homework as a valid instructional practice. As a teacher, I have had the chance to meet professionals who teach in a variety of educational settings, such as private and public schools, language centers, and universities. Some of them have restricted beliefs, either supporting that a great amount of homework is what ensures rigor to the school; or that if a class is really effective and the teacher delivered a high-standard lesson, students have no need to complete tasks outside school. To me, homework does not reflect any of these assumptions.
I strongly believe we should continue to have homework. If teachers keep giving us homework it'll be better for students. Other people think that homework is a waste of time and they could be doing be better things. But I disagree with them I think we should still have homework for students. It would help a lot of students to go to better colleges and universities.
I know most people don't like homework, but don't you want to want kids to be smart? The kids in school right now will one day run America. So the people doing that would need to be smart, right? I know when kids get home they want to play on their iPhone, but with 10 short minutes of homework they can still do that. Giving children a little more homework can help them get ,help them get more knowledge, with their jobs one day, and have you ever thought about how one day the kids in school now will run america one day. So now you know the basics, but keep reading and find out more on the opinion.
Do you ever think a teacher gives out homework? Yes, I think that to. Kids should not have that much homework well not even that much none at all. It’s extra harder for middle and high school cause they more than one classes. When kids come from they are ready to play because they spend all day in school doing work. Homework eats up free time. In 11 and 12, it can be difficult to manage homework with independent study. Studying is enough even though we have a test coming up.
Homework is helpful to students that actually want to do well in school. It gives students an opportunity for them to get a review on what they did during class and it also helps them get to know the curriculum more in-depth. Students should do their homework because it will show them if they understand it and could
Back in elementary school I believed that homework was pointless. I did not understand why we had to go to school for six hours a day and then were still expected to do work outside of school. What is the point? I often thought about this growing up but never did not complete my assignments, I was too worried about getting a bad grade. All through elementary school and some of junior high I had these feelings towards homework. Why is homework necessary? Why do work in school all day and come home to do more work?
Most students are probably thinking “no homework is stupid” . But, believe it or not, homework is good for you. Homework creates a bridge between school and home. Homework allows your parents to keep up with what you're doing in class. Studying is also another form of homework. In fact, according to “Is Homework Good For Kids?” it states that “Children should spend time studying each day, even if they don't have any homework” (Reilly 1). Even though some kids may say that homework doesn't leave them enough time to do other things at home, they should still receive it because it can help them practice what they are learning, develop work ethic skills, and learn time management.
Why do we have homework? We have homework so we can expand our learning to outside the classroom. However, some people think that we should not have homework. Homework is beneficial, as long as it is given with a purpose. It expands learning time, helps solidify concepts, teach time management skills, and can show parents what their children are learning.
Students spend hours doing it, teachers spend hours checking it. Homework is sometimes a burden to teachers and students but still it is necessary. Some people doubt homework's effectiveness, but teachers and researchers agree homework is essential. Homework helps students get better grades in school.
