Intelligence is defined as the ability to acquire, understand, and apply knowledge and skills. It is also defined as having the ability to think and understand knowledge instead of performing actions that are based on instinct.The intelligent behavior of a machine is characterized as having the ability to achieve and perform the cognitive abilities and tasks similar to that of a human. 1.2 Describe the Turing test for artificial intelligence and justify its validity from a modern standpoint. The Turing test was an experiment that evaluated a machine’s ability to display human-like intelligent behavior and consisted of two phases. In the first, an interrogator and two other individuals were placed in separate rooms and were only able to communicate with each other through the use of remote terminals. The interrogator would then determine which individual was male or female based on the answers they provided from the questions the interrogator would ask. The major reason that the field of advanced neural networks was reborn in the 1980s was because the breakthrough in technology allowed researchers with the ability experiment new theories and methodologies on artificial neural networks at a critical level. To go full circle on the first point we decided that machines must take into account the concept of making rules and reflecting on past rules. The second point was to see how thinking and self-awareness is achieved at the height of the process of rulemaking. The concept of language and symbols Searles is very important as an example as it sheds light on why machines can’t ever be human even with human brains as Searles claim they need to be a theoretical StrongAI. Language was created by mapping things and association of learned objects. To truly learn a language we have to understand and experience what it stands for. Language is an expression of results based on tests on objects that are now definable. It is a shortcut for learning information. Therefore it’s important that AI does more than think in a correct pattern as our experience of inputs comes from our interactions with one another and what we learn from language and not on our own in solitude. It is determined by the ways we are able to solve problems, our mathematical skills, interpersonal and intrapersonal knowledge, and naturalist intelligence. We are able to test our personal intelligent through many different quizzes called IQ tests. One of the most popular ones being the Stanford Binet tests, which is used as a good resource to test the intelligence of students. However, it is questionable whether or not IQ tests are very accurate.

Intelligence has been identified in many different ways throughout history and varies between different cultures. The current idea of intelligence consists of intangible properties that include, but are not limited to, knowledge-based thinking, apprehending, adaptive purposeful striving, fluid-analytic reasoning, mental playfulness, and idiosyncratic learning (Krishnamurthy, 2015).
There are a number of contemporary goals for artificial intelligence. This truth is in part related to the fact that many of the basic goals of artificial intelligence that were initially conceived during the 20th century still have not been met. Many contemporary goals, therefore, have descended from these initial goals, and have simply incorporated more specific practices and uses for artificial intelligence.
From this definition or description of intelligence we can gather that to exhibit true intelligence, there must be a conscious state, in other words, a state or condition of self-awareness. AI is broadly defined as anything that a computer does that we normally consider to be a human trait.
