The Panel Designer is used to create graphic panels. I used these panels to change the values of discrete and continuous environment variables interactively during the simulation. From the Toolbox and the Symbol Explorer I placed controls and symbols via drag and drop on an open panel. The properties of the selected objects are displayed in a table format which I synchronized with the signal being depicted by the control. This division of all these windows makes the process to configure the panel and its controls virtually dialog-free. A brief description of them are as follows.

 Toolbox - All available controls are displayed in the toolbox.

 Symbol Explorer - In the Symbol Explorer, one can select the symbol that needs to be assigned to a control. All available symbols in the database are displayed. The Symbol Explorer supports several options for accessing the …show more content…

The window displays all settings of a selected control or panel in table format. For the designing of the panel I used certain controls from the Toolbox. The selection for the right control was challenging because of the fact that the signals that were to be analyzed were unique in their own way. So, finding the right control had me check the properties of the control deeply and then assign them to the properties that came along with the signal. Some of the controls used by me can be found below.
The Analog Gauge was used to display element for symbol values within a defined value range. As in figure 3.8 I used it to display the speed of the vehicle. I then assigned the minimum and maximum values for it, so as to define its range.

 Progress Bar - The Progress Bar is used to display a value within a defined value range in the form of a bar. I used the bar because it quickly displayed that whether the current value is in the lower, medium, or upper range of possible
