A syllabus is a way to keep order in a classroom and at school. In Mrs. Brauckmann’s syllabus, the important topics to me are Attendance and Make-Up Work Policies, Rules and Expectations, and Academic Integrity Policies. How are you suppose to learn if you aren’t at school to learn? “Students are required to be at school every day, on time, and actively participate in their learning” (Brauckmann 3). It’s undoubtedly frustrating to be a teacher, trying your hardest to help all your students pass your class when the students aren’t present to learn. This is why it is very important to be in class every single day. If you have to miss school for a doctor's appointment or any other miscellaneous reason, make sure you get it excused in the office, within ten days. If you don't get it excused, you can’t receive make up work credit. Instead, it will be …show more content…
“All school rules as outlined in the student handbook are to be followed at all time” (2). Other students can’t focus or learn if you are not following directions. You would want other students to follow the rules so you can learn, so please do the same for them. Not to mention, rules are to keep everyone safe. If you are running in the halls, you might knock someone over and they could fall backwards and get a concussion. This is why it is very crucial for all students to follow the rules. Plagiarism is prohibited. If you use too much of one source, it can be considered plagiarism. “Plagiarism and/or cheating will not be tolerated. Generally, plagiarism is the use of another’s work-including ideas, opinions, data, illustrative material or media without properly attributing and citing the source” (3). This isn’t fair to the student that put in all this work for you to come and copy the work, or to the people that wrote that book or website. You need to properly attribute and cite, give these people the credit they
Every setting should have established rules and boundaries for children’s and young people’s behavior. It is important when in a school setting that all staff consistently and fairly apply rules and boundaries for children and refer to the policies and procedures that are put into place. It is important that these rules and boundaries are followed from a young age and that the rules should be age appropriate.
The reason it is important to follow directions is because for instance, if you walk across the street. If there’s no speed limit, red lights, stop signs, or anything, you would be seriously injured. Another reason following rules is important is because if there was a man to have a weapon to put everyone lives in danger. If the kid was to not pay attention to any of the drills given, he would be harmed or even kidnapped. For example, that’s what Mrs. Golden is always telling middle school students because we don’t follow directions, one day it will really happen and all of our lives will be put in danger.
I understand that the School does not tolerate plagiarism. Plagiarism is the knowing or reckless presentation of another person’s thoughts, writings, inventions, as one’s own. It includes the incorporation of another person’s work from published or unpublished sources, without indicating that the material is derived from those sources. It includes the use of material obtained from the internet. (Senate Regulations 6.46)I confirm that I adhere to the School’s Policy on plagiarism.
Rules are rules, and rules are made to be followed by the students. For instance, if someone is acting inappropriately in the lab, such as not listening to the
In my opinion, it is important to have students help create the rules as a class at the beginning of the year, to provide them with the leadership and have a clear understanding of what is expected of them. The class will create 2-5 non-negotiable rules to follow in the classroom that is observable and measurable to govern the classroom. The rules will help create and maintain a positive learning environment. All rules will be written and posted throughout the classroom. The rules will be taught, practiced, and reinforced throughout the
Some rules will be requirements for legal and safety reasons others will be there for the good and benefit of all participants. This could mean things like no swearing, arriving on time, let the teacher know if you intend to be late. One important ground rule is that no one should interrupt when one person is speaking; thereby reinforcing the notion that all individual views are important, valid and listened to.
If anyone should be setting rules it’s students, teachers need to observe the way students learn and they have to help the students in what they struggle in.
To avoid plagiarism, make sure to cite your sources properly with in-text citations as well as a works-cited page.
Following the rules in the residential halls can be some of the most important university rules to follow when it comes to the health and safety of
I sometimes hear my peers remark that even a contagious ailment would not keep them home for fear of losing notes exclusive to in-class discussion, as this would mean ravaging their grades. Though it may seem unreasonable to assume missing school for even a day can damage one’s future, eighth grade students who missed just three days of
Classroom rules are very simple if you do what's needed and obey each and everyone. You will be expected to respect everyone in class and outside of class. Being respectful not with just your teachers but our fellow students, guest, teachers and staff. No getting out
Brackman's syllabus is Attendance, Make Up Work and Late Work policy. By district, we are required to be at school every day if not student would be missing a vast deal of school days therefore, not getting the right education needed. Although, if for any reason we need to miss a day we are to come in the morning after the excused absence to pick up any missing assignment. ALike, our grading, policy we are responsible for checking HAC weekly to assemble that everything is in order including missing assignments. For example the syllabus states we are responsible to turn in all assignments. All our assignments are to be completed for a grade and that's why the Attendance and make up work policy is one of the most important
Because students often are confused about what is and is not plagiarism, I have prepared this handout to help you understand what is acceptable. There are some gray areas and if you have any questions, ask your instructor. Plagiarism is very serious and it can be grounds for failure in a course. So ask first.
A writer who utilizes outside sources need to understand exactly what plagiarism is. Using sources clearly and efficiently should be your objective. Plagiarism is one of the greatest problems in academic writing at the moment. Another academic dilemma is students unable to locate reputable sources and use them effectively. There two problems are the effect of students not having the appropriate tools to conquer these challenges. according to Randall McClure “students often use web sources as a source of information” (McClure 2008). These two concepts go hand in hand in the sense that they are both preventing student from reaching their full academic potential.
Plagiarism is common in schools, working places, and anywhere in general. Since it is such a common thing, people do it without even blinking an eye. Though you may think it will benefit you, plagiarism is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. It can effect the person you are stealing from, their grades, work, or possibly get them fired. It is also considered stealing, and cheating. This would be breaking the Ten Commandments, as a Christian, and would be seen as a sin. In the end, plagiarism prevents you from learning and growing as a person and you will not benefit from it in a positively.
