Geographical Analysis of Switzerland
Switzerland is considered as the most ancient democratic republics of the world. An accurate follow-up of history from CIA world Factbook reveals it’s falling among the Scandinavian capitalist region. The country has experienced a peaceful ruling under a monarchial system of governance throughout the entire 20th century. Besides, Switzerland enjoys a more peaceful living standard with a far-reaching practice of capitalism for the mutual benefit of the entire society (CIA World Factbook, ND). Though the country is not classified among the Euro-zone due to its economical

The national practices are much more of a socialist republic with societal members coexisting together regardless of dynamics of languages of the region. Contrary to countries such as the United States, Switzerland has demonstrated a distinctive style of social governance where the constitutional amendment is done through popular initiatives (CIA World Factbook, ND). As a result, members of the public are allowed to make a plea, and an election is organized if more than 100, 000 people sign them. If the majority of the Swiss states agree on wins, then the bill automatically become recognized as law (CIA World Factbook, ND).
Benefits of Socialism System of Governance of Switzerland
As part of a popular argument, the country believes in a high amount of taxes and such has contributed enough to the success of Scandinavian republic. Contrary to most Scandinavian countries, Switzerland exhibit a very strong economy with a standard class of living regardless of the high amount of taxes collected (CIA World Factbook, ND).
Acting more like a true socialist republic, the country enjoys a peaceful political system where the demands of the society are heeded to by the government settled in the most appropriate way possible. Besides, the nation enjoys a communal spirit a situation that is

Switzerland net migration rate is 5.43 migrant(s)/1,000 populations (2014 est.) (CIA World Factbook, ND). Switzerland has received an influx of immigrants leading to change in its demographic profile. The highest population of immigrants was among some of the things that contributed to the national oil crisis of 1974 and the global recession (CIA World Factbook, ND). Most of the immigrants to Switzerland comprises of safe haven seekers and those from war torn regions as far as Somalia in Africa. While the country acts as an aid to most immigrants, the status has affected the countries mobility most especially in terms of administrative system and language. Ultimately, the migration pattern has contributed to low remuneration in the labor sector and stagnation in other sectors. As a result, it has contributed negatively to the national economy (CIA World Factbook,
In this Geography GCSE controlled assessment project, I will be focusing on rivers and I have chosen a hypothesis to prove that erosion is making an impact on the Loughton Brook Rivers. My hypothesis is, “The river Loughton brook becomes wider and deeper due to erosion as it moves downstream”. I will be investigating if erosion takes place downstream in the river. I will investigate if hydraulic action has an impact. I will study about vertical erosion, lateral erosion, Cross profile and hydraulic action.
During this unit of human geography, I have learned so much about religions, ethnicities, and even culture. For example, I learned about the religion Islam and how it is a religion of peace just like the Hindu religion and as well as the Buddhist religion and much more others. These religions and some others have much in common whether they accept it , these religions and some more are all peaceful religions and all teach good morals and principles to the followers, everyone following footsteps of good people and their good actions and/or deeds. When I was reading chapter 7 ( ethnicity) I learned that ethnicity also has to do with culture and that the chapter before that one, we were reading about ( folk culture) and how it much ties in with
Scale- relationship between a specific place in the world, and the Earth as a whole.
The Five Themes of Geography are: Location – Absolute points on a map or grid or Relative to where something may be; Place – The physical and/or human characteristics of a locations; Human/Environment Interactions – How humans have impacted the landscape or environment; Relationship between places Movement – How humans interact on the earth (i.e. how they communicate over distance (short or long)) and Regions – a unit of space that has commonalities defined by physical, human and environmental geography. The Explorers of the New World may have not known what the Five Themes of Geography were but they quickly learned. Of the five themes the ones that they all took advantage of was the physical Location and Place as they learned to navigate
Ideologically, the socialist state is portrayed as a figure that supports citizens’ interest equally and is open and comprehensive towards their needs. Individuals can trust in making the best decisions in everybody’s interests. The government makes it its goal to carry out socialist values and makes
Cronulla is a beachside suburb in southern Sydney, it is located 34.0574° S, 151.1522° E which is 26 kilometres south of the Sydney CBD (see figure 2). It is governed by the Sutherland Shire Council. Cronulla’s coastal environment is on the Kurnell Peninsula, which is made up of a tombolo. A tombolo is a sand spit connecting a rocky outcrop or island to the mainland. So this forms a barrier between Botany Bay and Bate Bay. The two areas of study visited were Wanda Beach and the Greenhills Beach development.
In the text they used ‘pretty bloody extraordinary’ to describe the project the Paterson is undertaking, the words give off an air of passion to the project. The writer gives off the impression that the whole project is extraordinary with words ‘grand, epic and phrases like ‘not a single soul’.
For my theme, I chose the word change because I feel that throughout this chapter, each civilization has gone through changes as time went on. Western Asia went through changes when it was split into Babylonia and Assyria. The two zones became different and accomplished things on their own after. But in the Mediterranean, after many people settles and migrated from many place of the world, the Mediterranean became more successful because of its goods and success in trading. Also in Israel, when the Bible became more popular and there were more followers of Yahweh, many customs were changed. For example, monotheism was one of the changes the Israelites went through, because before, polytheism, the worship of more than one god, was more popular and well-known.
Did you know that the country of Germany had the most feared, fascist government in the world? Well it did, but that was many years ago. Now it has a new government that is more democratic. It was Nazi Germany now it is the Federal Republic of Germany. It did have a Fuhrer now it is a President and parliament. The Germans’ have had several forms of government that didn’t work and now they have the democracy they currently use. The German government currently uses a Federal system with a Parliamentary head that is Democracy based.

C.A country likely constitutes a formal political region because within its boundaries certain conditions of nationality, law, and political tradition prevail.
Human activity is influenced by two opposite forces, globalization and local diversity. Globalization is the trend of increasing interaction between different societies. Local diversity is the trend of a society focusing on local development and growth. Maps are used to display real world places, human interactions and physical data on a two-dimensional surface
The global mobility of human resources between countries is a key driving force of the currently ongoing economic and regional development all over the world. It is indisputable that the immigration of international labour force would exert many positive and important impacts on the economic, cultural and social structure of both migrant-receiving and migrant-sending countries. Actually, the trend of temporary and permanent immigrants increasing in some western countries began to gain momentum in recent years. Organization for Economic Cooperation Development (OECD 2004) reports indicated that there were more than 1 million new immigrants in the United States in 2001 and 2002, increased by 25% from 2000; in some European countries
Research Question: Is Switzerland’s direct democratic government more efficient than the united states representative government?
When the Federal State was founded in 1848, Switzerland began to industrialize. Foreigners from neighboring countries came to Switzerland for work. Post World War II labor shortages in Switzerland brought more immigrants into the country (Ruedin, Alberti, D'Amato, 2015). Switzerland has been shaped immigration, and how the immigrants from neighboring countries settled have in separate regions (Appendix: Map 1). Throughout Swiss history, immigration has been a highly debated topic. Several immigration laws, decrees, and people’s initiatives have been put forth to control immigration (Ruedin, Alberti, D'Amato, 2015). Currently, Switzerland is in the midst of a refugee crisis, which is creating more debate
