The author of this memo assumes that Acme would benefit greatly by requiring all of their employees to take the Easy Read course. To bolster this assumption, the author cites several facts: one graduate of the course was able to read a 500-page report in only two hours; another graduate rose from an assistant manager to vice president of the company in under a year, he also assumes that the faster one can read the more information one can absorb in a day, moreover, this course would cost Acme only $500 per employee, which is a small amount for Acme to pay when consider the benefits. According to these evidence, the author concluds that require all of their employees to take the course will bring benefits to company. However, the assumption of the author is weak in following aspects.
First of all, the authr assumes unfairly that the improvement of two graduate of the course can imply to other employees who take this course, which is not necessaril the case. We do not know the information about the two graduate listed in the memo, maybe they were extraordinary before taking this course, the former one was good at reading, and the latter one was leadership before taking this course. Furthermore, even if the course did improve the ability

However, lacking strong evidence, the author’s assumption is not reliable. He points out that the cost for per employee is only $ 500, he only mentions this is the course fee and does not provide other information about the cost, maybe the course will need extra cost for books or other stuff, and the total cost will be a great burden to the company. Moreover, there is no evidence to manifest the employees who take this course will definately make benefits to the company, if they do not, the benefits will be
Can plaintiff Ron Arnett state a claim for negligent infliction of emotional distress (NIED) under Pennsylvania law given that Arnett was located twenty feet from the accident that injured Sarah Nolan, saw Ricky Landis running toward the pool and realized immediately after the impact what had happened, but viewed the impact while underwater; and though they share an emotional bond, Arnett and Nolan are not biologically or legally related?
Also, no entity can expect with reasonable certainty that future economic benefits from training will flow to the entity as sometimes training increases the productivity of the labour and sometimes not. Another fact is that different people have different learning capabilities, some learn more from training and thus are capable of providing more benefit and some don’t learn anything and have no considerable change in their performance. Also, the benefits that arise from training cost are connected with the labour which can resign, retire etc and leave the entity and thus flow of benefits (if any) will stop. In short, we can conclude that there is considerable uncertainty surrounding training costs to qualify for capitalization and also the faithful representation which is one of the principle qualitative characteristics of financial statements directs us not to report such transactions and events which are surrounded by significant uncertainty as it can cause unreliable reporting (IAS 16)

When companies train their employees well, they equip their employees with the necessary skills to perform well in their roles. This in turn translates into higher productivity because employees will be able to complete tasks more efficiently and effectively. The quality of work that employees create will also be higher because the training programs will teach employees how to perform well and fine-tune their skills and accuracy. For example, IBM's e-learning program for new managers, Basic Blue, costs $8,708 per manager. The company has measured an improvement in each new manager's performance worth $415,000. For every $1 that IBM invests in Basic Blue, it receives almost $47 (HRM 154). Therefore, if businesses want to gain a high return on investment, it is imperative that they also invest in training their employees. In our simulation, we had hired and promoted roughly 50-75 workers in each quarter of our first three quarters. However, we decreased the training budget each quarter, despite our increase in workers hired and promoted. This decrease in training investment led to a high accident rate and low quality index. When we spent larger amounts in training workers, and in the different training programs, there were direct correlations between increased training costs and the different outcomes intended of the

Gioia uses the percentages of employers that complain that their employees lack reading comprehension because he is trying to show the need for literature everywhere. While writing this paper, I attempted to follow the forms and models put forth in the research papers we read in class during this unit. It was helpful to have something to follow while writing this report because I focused more on the “how” and “why” instead of the “what” of the research report structure. Overall, I found that this paper was much more organized than my last and I hope that this also improved the quality of my writing.
Some company pays educational institutions directly for expensive, intense training programs that require payment up front (O’Reilly, Brendan 2001). Today, nearly 15 percent of our domestic workforce is enrolled in college and university coursework, more than half seeking advanced degrees. Our participation rates are three times the national average for companies with similar programs. And, participants' retention rate is double that of all employees (Cassidy, John F. 2004).
Due to the ever changing landscape of the business world many employers often send their employees to attend trainings and seminars. Though this specialized training sessions are costly the return a company gets from it is worth the investment. A company that constantly sends its employees to school to acquire a fresh and new ideas has a greater advantage than a company that do not offer such benefit.
