Liberal Perspective: For the liberal’s perspective they believe in equal opportunity and equal rights for everyone. Liberals are mainly democratic, which is why some of the things that democrats believe, they believe as well, mainly because both of those parties think the system should help more. The ideals and the composition of liberals and conservatives are radically different at times, and yet these same beliefs work together to make up the basic framework of American political thought. Of course the issues are not random, each side will vote for and against particular kinds of issues.

Libertarianism sees liberty as a priority over all other values, and many conservative ideas are libertarian in that they support the greatest possible economic liberty and the least possible regulation of social life. Many people have a strong belief in what side they take a part of, but some others may not be as informed, thus putting them in the middle of the two sides. Although many college students do not have a full knowledge on many of these topics, they do have enough to form an opinion on them. I was born and raised in Washington D.C and it’s always diverse here. Beng in D.C means there are a humongous range of opinions. There are people with different political ideologies and I so happen to be more so of a liberal. A liberal is someone who is usually open minded , i'm willing to break traditional values. I would say the reason I am more of a liberal because living in dc you have to be able to pay attention to the world around you whether it's crime or politics , being that we are the capital of The U.S. On another note,.the internet is so easy to access now and i i feel like it has shaped my political ideology. There is so much diversity and interesting information on social media that you have no choice to be constantly exposed to different ideas. I would correlate this to being a Free Range Democrat. I've attended protest, i do believe that war on terrors have interfered with individuals privacy and that racial discrimination is overwhelming, etc.

Everyone has heard the following words at one time or another "Democrats are liberal, while Republicans are Conservative". Is this really true? In order to resolve this question, two questions must be answered, what do the two terms mean? What is liberal and what is Conservative? Some Democrats are conservative and some Republicans are liberal. In this time of turmoil, Democrats and Republicans must work together to promote the common welfare.

Time has amounted to the separation between liberal and conservative ideals. With each year the parties grow stronger and stances on controversies grow larger. The parties do differ however, on taxes. Labour have always strived to keep taxes as low as possible whilst attempting to strike a balance with good public services. The Liberal Democrats feel this can only be achieved if taxes are raised, therefore making the public pay for the improvements. As with the EU, Conservatives have greatly differing policies from the other two parties. They believe in the preservation of national sovereignty and traditional political methods.
