GASB Article Statement No. 49 Before diving directly into the article from the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) titled Governments to Report Liabilities Connected with Their Obligations to Clean Up Pollution (2006), one must first take a step back and take time to read, comprehend, and take to heart exactly what this organization stands for. Taken directly from their main web page under the tab labeled Education, the first thing seen in big, bold, blue letters is, “Due Process: The GASB Is Listening” followed by a definition of what listening means, “to hear with thoughtful attention”. When researching a little more into the GASB, it is easy to see how crucial listening truly is for them in order to fully accomplish their …show more content…
The $2.2 million would be reported as the liability in the government’s financial statements.”
If only certain portions can be estimated, they are reported initially and as the process is completed, costs are reevaluated and reported in their current amount under liabilities. These expenses are reported in the government-wide financial statements under liabilities, as the work is completed, the liability is reduced for the dollar amount of which payments were made. The article states, “For governments that also present financial statements for governmental funds, expenditures will be reported when clean up goods and services are received.” (para. 7). As stated earlier, a note disclosure is required for the liability, however, in the case insufficiently being able to properly foresee a reasonable estimated amount, since there are no numbers to report; but, there is still a disclosure submitted, except only “the nature of the pollution remediation activities” (para. 8) will be disclosed. For those which can project cost outlays the information required in their note is:
1) “Nature and source of the obligation to clean up the pollution”
2) The estimated liability amounts if “combined with other liabilities in the financial statements”
3) How the estimates were computed, i.e. what method and under what assumptions?
4) Changes which are expected

The Legislative Branch has the job of creating bills, which are later given back and forth to the House of Representatives and the Senate, then hopefully to the president to become a law. When I studied bills that were in session by representatives, I found that most of the bills created never became laws. This happens often because community representatives and senators have difficulties agreeing on bills. I also noticed that Representatives were not frequent at creating bills based on the issues they cover. For instance, the Representative for the 63133 District of Missouri, Lacy Clay, sponsored the H.R.3683 bill, which was only introduced and was last altered November 20, 2015. The H.R.3683 focuses on getting programs that exemplify the
This is my fourth semester attending Lamar Institute of Technology. The thing that seemed to be most difficult was that most students are not offered outside opinions on teachers and the classes offered. It seems like a challenge due to the fact that as students he or she does not know what he or she are getting into.
“There are only patterns, patterns on top of patterns, patterns that affect other patterns. Patterns hidden by patterns. Patterns within patterns. If you watch close, history does nothing but repeat itself. What we call chaos is just patterns we haven't recognized. What we call random is just patterns we can't decipher. What we can't understand we call nonsense. What we can't read we call gibberish. There is no free will. There are no variables.(Palahniuk, Charles).” This quote indeed can be implied in our everyday lives, but I think that it is very much relatable to what goes on in our country, our government tactics and even the catastrophes that happened in America. However some would
I am Isabel Suárez and I will be one of your TA for LACIS 260 this semester -I will be teaching the Friday discusion section.
I spoke to the leaders in Main on Friday regarding how many positions they needed filled and how long they've been waiting for replacements.
When I first took the test to see what I scored, I was surprised with many of my results.
For this assignment I was asked to make two sample sequence with images from Week 4 Assignment 2. I like sequence two the best, because it displays more of what's going on during the concert, for example, face painter with a client and a juggler in action. Sequence one is more of an introduction, that's why the opening image is an overall view of the crowd, the second image is of the band sound check, the third is the announcer, and then the band opening and so on.. I chose the closing images, because it is a final image that sums up the evening. I want the audience to interpret from the sequences that they got to experience the event themselves, from start to end.
I had an intuition that the managers and leaders would score higher than other employees. Three leaders were assessed within our department and their scoring ranged from 99-112. There was an outlier score of 115 from an executive assistant and wondered if they really felt the way they answered or wanted to score better? However, after I thought about it, she is an executive assistant to the Chief Medical Officer who is now an Executive Vice President so she may have a very knowledgeable understanding of our strategic mission. Four employees scored 67-91, who are lower level status employees. According to ISO (n.d.) organizations need to encourage and involve employees because they are a critical to producing and providing value. I believe
Payment was denied due to the lack of medical necessity for the frequency of the billed procedure. The carrier stated that the procedure was last performed on August 28, 2014.
My total Income was determined to be around $1123.42 per month. This income was determined after adding both my monthly job of $756 and my my financial aid of $272.80 a month. I plan to get a part time job that pays at least 10 dollars a month which is the federal minimum wage. In total I'm suppose to be making around 800 a month, but after taking away 20% in taxes I came out with $756 dollars that I would be able to spend on whatever I need to spend on. FAFSA Estimate was to be around $3,265.00 that equals to $1123.42 a
Cathy, i know very little about last year's doings of the board but I can answer some questions. The way we do minutes now is I make draft and send to members. I think all homeowners should be able to see the DRAFT and submit changes, especially if information personally involves a homeowner. Then if changes I do that. We ok minutes by email. Then send out when in agreement. That way minutes are not a month behind. If you include a message along with the DRAFT that any changes need to be submitted at least a week prior to the next Board Meeting, the Minutes wouldn't be a month behind. Just include a sentence in the current month's Minutes that last month's Minutes were corrected as noted; and then remove the DRAFT watermark before saving it.

This passage reminded me about this book I read, ‘’ Civil Action,’’ the book was resolves around the illegal dumping of the industrial chemical solvent, trichloroethylene, and how it contaminated the city’s drinking water causing Leukemia, cancer and other health issues among the people of Woburn. For instance, there were 12 deaths (8 of them children). However, a law suit was brought to this company since a young boy died of Leukemia. The government need to be held accountable for these damage since they are the one who are making the rules. I believe that the health of citizens should always come first no matter what. I wonder when other companies are going to spend forward admitting to what they are doing to our environment? When will
