I have being going to the fire department that is located at 6490 E 26th St, Yuma, AZ 85365, just
Why I want to continue my career in the Law Enforcement profession. As a young man growing up in Hamilton, Ohio I always admired my uncle who served as a law enforcement officer that influenced me for my career choice. I know going to college at this time in my life was not a practical choice for me and I needed some structure in my life and experience to achieve this goal. However, serving my country would provide me the experience, tools, and mature me for this type of career. The opportunity to serve my country honorably for 20 years as a Military Policeman in the United States Armed Forces and continue this type of selfless service as a private contractor not only provided me the skill set for this type of career, but enable me to travel
In Fred Stenson’s “In Search of a Modest Proposal” the author states, using his daughter’s first essay assignment as an example, that essays are inherently personal and should reflect the author’s own ideas, and that essay curriculums are flawed in their formulaic approach to teaching what is supposed to be a creative form of writing. Stenson’s essay uses a liberal amount of sarcasm to get his point across, and coupled with a reliance on personal examples his overall argument loses some efficacy. However, most of his irony and sarcasm are effective in their emotional appeals, and when coupled with more convincing examples and reference to authority that directly support his claim, they make for a compelling debate that is hard to refute.
Since the beginning of the 19th century, America has had to deal with the on going
After the almost fatal accident my grand mom was in, this passion grew stronger of helping others. The fact that firefighters help people when they need help the most makes the job all the more awesome. Joining the fire department gives me the power to help others in extreme circumstances and gives me the potential power to have a positive impact in some one’s life.
A college degree is becoming increasingly more valuable with many decent jobs requiring some sort of higher education. As more students prepare to enter college, many are faced with the escalating prices of not only tuition, but also other things such as textbooks and the cost of living. This problem has been especially prominent in California, particularly within the last month, due to the UC regent’s new and controversial plans for an in-state tuition increase of five percent in five years. With the rising prices of tuition many students must turn to student loans. These loans often get them through the expensive costs of school, but after they graduate, they are left with a substantial amount of debt to pay off. I think we can all agree that something must be done in order to stop students from having to pay these ridiculous tuition prices while still being able to get a quality college education. The answer actually lies in a system used decades ago, known as indentured servitude. If we want to create economic stability for future generations to come we must give them proper access to a college education without the worry of tremendous financial debt. In order to achieve this, I propose that any student will be able to attend a university free of charge, but after graduating must be given to an owner who will dictate their work, where and how they live until they finish their service which will range from fifteen to twenty years, depending on the
The topic of our group is education for the youth. We believe that education is generally important for our children and adults since it’s a step marker to endless possibilities and future success. Especially, educating the youth is important because they are transitioning to college and require the most skills, knowledge and training to be successful in their college career. Currently, our education system is funded by both the states, local taxes and the government. They are responsible for providing our students with the education they need to be successful in their lives. However, instead of helping the youth, our current institution is amplifying the social differences that already exists privileged and disadvantaged students. For example,
I think with any crime there should definitely be some sort of physical evidence to help convict a person. Time after time, victims tend to forget or add false details because they are so traumatized by the incident. This is why prosecutors should have complete physical evidence to convict someone else. Too many people are wrongfully accused for crimes they never committed and like the movie their lives never go back to normal. No amount of money in the world could ever get back the time lost away from family and friends, or help correct the life they may have had if they weren’t wrongly convicted. It seems to me that our justice system has become increasingly corrupted over the years. Many times the courts just want to convict someone with
College can be a very difficult place if you don’t have any assistance but with these recourses you have help in every area. I haven’t gotten a chance to use all of these recourses but the ones I have used have been more than helpful. When I first got my schedule I was confused about how the textbook numbers and the bookstore worked. I walked into the bookstore and someone was able to help me right away. A woman walked with me around the store and collected all of my textbooks within minutes. Another important recourse is the counseling service. Being a college student can be very stressful and confusing. How do I know I’m taking the proper classes I need? This service gives assistance in that area. They are also able to help with personal
While you bring up good ideas, there are a few flaws I see in your action plan. In my opinion, while I would thank the booster for bringing this situation to my attention, I would not inform him or her specifically of the findings of the investigation. This situation should be one that can be handled within the athletic department. This booster could learn the outcome of the investigation when there are more answers just like everyone else. Along with this, why else besides it taking stress off your shoulders would cause you to inform other administrators of the situation? I do not believe this to be a wise move, involving more people can cause the rumors to increase.
You are still not convinced?! Think of all the worthy causes we could put that money on everything we could cure/fix and everyone. But don’t stop at health and medicine. Imagine how much better our schools could be. We could very well, possibly end world hunger not just in third world countries; but here in our own United States as well. I realize that no matter what people will ultimately do what they want to do, no matter how much you try to deter their behavior. That is where my proposal kicks in to stop these criminals in their tracks before they could possibly do more harm or recruit other people to do their dirty work for them if you will for them. Sure, they are locked up behind bars being a parasite on our system while they have followers
I have over twenty-eight years of service in education. I have served as teacher, assistant principal, principal, director, assistant superintendent, and interim superintendent during my time as an educator. Although I have been in a variety of educational roles, none have been as rewarding as my last six years in Fluvanna. I have worked hard and with sincere passion to get to know the community and staff, so I am better equipped to assist with concerns or issues. I have forged partnerships with the Board of Supervisors and the County Administrator. I have attended multiple meetings throughout Fluvanna over the years with the Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Fluvanna, Rotary, and other civic based organizations. I know many individuals in local law enforcement and I am proud to be able to call the Fluvanna Sheriff a friend. I feel the relationships I have established through my tenure are vital to my future success should I be chosen

When it comes to ensuring the fulfillment of the vision and mission of the church it is important to sweat the small stuff. Toler and Nelson gives insight as to how important it is to be proactive when it comes to ministry. We should pay attention to the seemingly insignificant details because the minor details can make the difference in the ministry’s success or failure.
