Sharp to-day but sweet to-morrow:
Wait in patience, hope, rejoice,
Tried friends of sorrow.

Friends of pleasure, rise in haste,
Make friends with sorrow.
Comes again to rule to-morrow:
Welcomed sorrow will not stay,
Farewell to sorrow!
