N
An evanescent fame.
Nor in a nation’s councils gained
A statesman’s honored name;
He nobly did his part,
So shall his loved memory be
Enshrined in every heart.
His charity bestowing,
None sought in vain his kindly heart,
With generous impulse glowing.
Or mausoleum grand,
His mem’ry shall remain, while sounds
His fame in every land.
