[King of England; born in London, Aug. 21, 1765; entered the navy, and became admiral, 1801; succeeded George IV., June 26, 1830; died June 20, 1837.]
It has done its duty once, and is ready to do it again.
His explanation to an officer of marines, who felt aggrieved because the king said at table of an empty bottle, “Take that marine away.”The king’s last words, as he heard the cannon firing on the anniversary of the battle of Waterloo, were: “It was a great day for England” (or simply, “Glorious day!”).
