506. Oblivion.

   NOUN:OBLIVION; forgetfulness &c. adj.; [See obliteration] of -, [See insensibility] to- the past.
  short -, treacherous -, loose -, slippery -, failing- memory; decay -, failure -, lapse- of memory; mind -, memory- like a sieve; untrustworthy memory; waters of -Lethe, – oblivion; amnesia.
  AMNESTY, general pardon.
   VERB:FORGET; be forgetful &c. adj.; fall -, sink- into oblivion; have a short memory &c. n., have no head.
  forget one’s own name, have on the tip of one’s tongue, come in at one ear and go out at the other.
