   NOUN:CONTRARIETY, contrast, foil, antithesis, antipode, counterpole, counterpoint; counterpart; complement; vis-à-vis [F.], oppositeness; contradiction; antagonism (opposition) [See Opposition]; clashing, repugnance, antipathy.
  INVERSION [See Inversion]; the opposite, the reverse, the inverse, the converse, the antipodes, the other extreme.
   VERB:BE CONTRARY &c. adj.; contrast with, oppose, antithesize [rare]; differ toto cælo [L.].
  INVERT, reverse, turn the tables; turn topsy-turvy, turn end for end, turn upside down; retrograde, transpose, invaginate, intussuscept.
  CONTRADICT, contravene; antagonize [See Opposition].
