Marsh Pools

Frances Dickenson Pinder

From “Marsh Sketches”

AND now I know

Where are those stars

That slip like jewels

Between the night’s

Most jealous fingers.

At dusk I found them,

Where the marsh had hidden them—

In a silver pocket

Of her grey-green gown!
