August 23St. Justinian, Hermit and Martyr
| HE was a young nobleman of Lesser Britain, in Gaul, who passing into Wales, led an eremitical life in the little island Lemeneia, now called Birdsey, near Menevia. He was murdered by servants. St. David, who honoured him living, translated his body to Menevia after his death, where it was kept with great veneration. His death happened about the year 529.
