Lamprecht, der Pfaffe (Twelfth Century)
Lamprecht, the Priest (läm’preċht). A German poet of the first half of the twelfth century. He wrote the ‘Song of Alexander,’ one of the best poems of mediæval Germany: it is an adaptation of a French poem by Alberic of Besançon, of which only a fragment remains.
