Mod 6 Reflection
1. What was your biggest takeaway from this course? My biggest takeaway from this course was the projects. I really enjoyed creating the prezi, infographic, and the technology integration project. I learned more from actually presenting the material than I would have otherwise. I have a new respect for technology that supports student centered learning, mainly because I was able to experience it firsthand this semester.
2. What suggestions do you have for improving this course? The only suggestion for improving this course would be to give a little more information on module 5- consequences of innovations. I had a little trouble with this module and a few examples or another article may have helped. I could not find a
There are many take-aways I have learned from attending this course. The first take away that stood out to me from this course would be responded to my fellow classmates during group discussions. Not only did this serve as an opinion-based discussion, but I gained vast knowledge on different topics pertaining to policy advocacy. The second take away that stood out to me would have to the online skills advocacy assignment. This assignment helped me to explore several ideas and perform research on how to advocate for a population that was in need. This information would be considered as an aid to guide me during the near future to improve my skills as a social worker. The last take away that I have learned from this course would be being apart
I did learn a lot from the classes. Every week, the person who delivered the speech would give really useful information. The lady Veronica from CCO gave us the tips on how to create our resume and what will be useful when you are having an interview. Although I am not going to get a job after graduation, I still got a lot of useful information.
When I first started this course I didn’t know what to expect. I really enjoyed writing but there was a lot of areas that I needed to work on. When I first started to review the modules I was blown away by all the helpful sites that were at my disposition. The Power points and different sites completely changed my whole perspective of writing to a whole new dimension. Thanks to the modules I am more confident right now before I even begin an essay. I remember in the past how beginning an essay was so difficult for me because I didn’t know how to even start. In this course I have learned how to begin an essay, how to manipulate information, and how to use in-text documentation properly. These are just some of the few things that I will definitely be taking with me in the future for my courses and personal growth.
There was such a variety of topics covered in this course and I wish that I had taken it in a classroom instead of online. With this online course, I feel like the material went a little too quickly. If I were in a classroom setting, I feel that
The SIMSOC program allowed our class to create not only small individual societies, but also one large society together in which every decision had an outcome that must be addressed in order to thrive. Such dynamics of a real society were put in place to ultimately show us how various social situations can have power us. Specific situations were set up before hand without us knowing and we unconsciously and impulsively conformed to certain roles and conditions.
I liked everything about this course. The seminars, study plans, and the weekly discussions help
This was by far the most challenging course that I have encountered while obtaining my Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from UCMO. That is not a negative comment as this course has actually impacted me professionally more than any other course I’ve taken to date. This course has taken more time to complete the assignments, more of my attention to detail, and more of my creativity. The last point was the best part about this course. I consider myself to be fairly creative and this course definitely allowed me to do that while bringing my somewhat odd personality to a professional forum. For this I am grateful. Let’s get to the good stuff, shall we?
The first thing I want to state is that I learned quite a bit from this course. This is probably one of the most challenging courses I’ve taken thus far in my college career. Most of tasks I’ve done in this course I have never done before and that’s what made it so challenging. I am use to taking courses that require me to study material from presentations and books. With this information I take exams and quizzes. This course was nothing like that. This course had me going out and networking with individuals outside of the university. The networking is the very first thing that stood out to me in this course since I am not really the outgoing/ people person. From networking I did learn a lot and met numerous interesting people that
EDL 661 was probably the most changeling course to date. I am not familiar with law at all and when it came to having to research and complete case studies I was at a loss. With that being said, I do believe that through completing these difficult assignments it has helped me grow the most. I have learned how to properly read a case brief and understand the importance of law in education. I think that it will have a big impact on me as a leader because we need to make sure that we follow the law when we are leading a school, but we also need to understand how the law has an impact on how the school is run and how previous cases can have an impact on things that are happening at our schools, in our district, and within our state. The thing
1)What do you think this module is trying to teach you? What did you learn from the module as a whole? Draw examples from the segment you chose to focus on.
I have learned so much in this class to prepare me for a successful college experience. There were some topics that caught my attention more than others. Such as, time and stress management, University resources, and critical thinking.
What concepts, principles, or ideas that you have learned, do you think you will remember the most after you leave this class?
I feel like I learned a lot from this course. I think, overall, this course was very eye-opening and made me understand, and want to better understand, issues involving gender and how they effect society. I would say the one of the most important pieces of information I learned was just how much the idea of gender and gender roles influences everyday life. I had never really thought too much about the determents of gender or traditional masculine and feminine ideals before this class, and how we as a society promote and encourage the belief that a person’s gender or sex creates different innate, natural attitudes and attributes. Learning about how important society’s views of gender is, and how it affects the way we learn and think, makes me look at our culture in a different way. For example, before this class I never realized how much women are objectified and put under intense Photoshop in advertisements. This better understanding of the way society is helps me take a step back and look at our culture in a different way, and allows me to become more aware of the issues surrounding gender, sex, and the ideals of masculinity and femininity.
QUESTION 3:Choose one of the theoretical approhes considered during the module, apply it to a particular issue or text and discuss how useful that approach is in analyzing, evaluating or questioning your chosen topic.
I myself also gained a deeper understanding about the Cloud technology. I really like how through this learning process I started out knowing nothing about a certain topic, but by the end of the semester I had become an expert on my topic and was able to share my knowledge with other people at the end of semester. In addition, the knowledge and research skills I gained from this experience will help me in the future whenever I need to learn new things.
