CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
All proposed researches require gathering information about a certain topic. In this chapter you will read about what our topic is all about and the reasons why we had come up with this research proposal. 1.1 Background of the Study For centuries up until the present day, plants have given us so many things to our society. They can be used as food to give energy or to give cure for some illnesses. It has so many uses which is important for our daily living. The Origanum vulgare, also known for its common name Oregano (sometimes

We don’t need to import from other countries because the oregano plant is very much accessible to us Filipinos. Those who will benefit from our research can use the product in their own homes especially in areas wherein bacteria can accumulate. Another is that the next generation of students can learn something from our research. They may get ideas from it and help them in their own study for the problems that we are experiencing right now may not be the same in the future. 1.4 Scope and Limitations
The goal of our research study is to come up with an oregano disinfectant spray. The use of this disinfectant spray is to rural households which live in Metro Manila. It will be done with a few experiments to test its effectiveness. The sources that we will be getting are from the Philippines. We will use our own products to give it a more natural and organic spray. We will focus with the use of this sprayer to other citizens living near bodies of water. This study will cover the viral bacteria, including germs affecting the community. We base our study with the help of other international-related topics, including the importance of the disinfectant spray. But this will only help us to know how to deal and experiment with our study. The limits and the occurrence of this study will only be here in
1. A brief description the research project and issue under investigation and an analysis of best practice in relation to this issue. (2.1 and 2.2).
Scientists have studied the impact of water borne pathogens over time. Just how dependent human life is on the waterways is one such question which arises. The study involves the effect of such pathogens on human life. This study was narrowed down to the area of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. The Chesapeake Bay each weekend is occupied for recreational use. Such activities as swimming, fishing, and body surfing are common place. Normally each year thousands of pounds of seafood are distributed from out of the bay. There is a vast amount of people who come to visit the area each year.
It is an enduring woody climbing liana. It is local to India, Indonesia, Malaysia, South America and West Indies but at the same time is generally developed in the tropical areas. Black pepper is a general table sauce used to flavor a wide range of foods around the world. It is dedicated as the 'Ruler of Spices' (Srinivasan, 2007; Mathew et al., 2001). The fiery taste is fundamentally because of the nearness of a compound Piperine. Piperine is an impactful alkaloid (Tripathi et al., 1996) that improves the bioavailability of different basically and remedially assorted medications. (Khajuria et al., 2002). It likewise contains little measures of safrol, pinene, sabinene, limonene, caryophyllene and linaonol compound.
Michael Pollan, author of The Botany of Desire: A Plant’s View of the World, addresses four major plant groups that have both changed for human needs and simultaneously changed human’s needs. While most gardeners, genetic engineers and other plant related professionals have long-believed that plants have evolved based on what we want or need to survive and in other words what we have “domesticated”, Pollan appeals to the plant’s view. Plants’ survival has been solely based on what humans desire both depending on their visual and stimulatory appeal along with their appeal to an appetite. Conversely, plants have used humans as a strategy for “getting us to move and think for them (page xx)”. Many plants have successfully maneuvered humans for
Research can be defined as the search for knowledge, or as any systematic investigation, with an open mind, to establish novel facts, solve new or existing problems, prove new ideas, or develop new theories. Research can be divided into different steps in order to understand the whole process more in depth. The first step towards conducting research is to observe. Consistst of the subject area of ones interest and following that subject area to conduct subject related research. The subject area should not be randomly chosen since it requires reading a vast amount of
The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollen uses examples of four plants including the apple ,tulip, marijuana, and the potato, to describe evolution and how mankind works to help plants reproduce. We are a slave to things of sweetness, beauty, intoxication, and control. These four things are described by the different plant chapters in the book. We as people are driven to these kind of things because of the product we get, we subconsciously are working to make these plants more fit and therefore helping in their reproduction and evolution. With each plant chapter Pollen goes into depth about its contribution to the world and history behind the plant within human evolution. By using the examples he provides in the book helps demonstrate the ideas of how these plants contribute to the human body systems, evolution and ecology. To further explain these topics I chose to explore the apple, tulip and cannabis plants.
During the research, it was intended that we explore the topics given, selecting and analysing
Plants have surrounded me my whole life. I see gardening relaxing and beautiful in a weird way. To see a seed transform into something beautiful like a rose or a daisy is extraordinary. I'm passionate about plants and this shows that I will be extra safe and careful with the plants. I know how to take care of plants and will make sure they are in the best shape.
Quantitative research is used throughout the science field but is also used immensely throughout research in nursing. The author will investigate a study that has been conducted and understand the role of it in the practice of nursing. Quantitative research can be achieved by polls, questionnaires, interviews, or surveys. The primary focus is hand hygiene procedures and how it can reduce the risk of infection among the home and community settings by using handwashing and alcohol based hand sanitizers.
It is important to mention at this stage that a research study presented by a researcher may not give complete information about the selected topic. There can be certain limitations of methodology and the new researchers may criticise it for being incomplete. As research is a circular process in which ideas can be added and extracted by researchers anytime, the application of the presented ideas by one researcher are tested and verified.
Research can be a very scary topic when it is first introduced to a class, and I was that scary student. Research to me was like learning how to swim for the first time with a life vest on, and my heart beating 100 miles per hour because I’m so afraid. Taking off my life vest and diving into this research course has been very rewarding for me. I have learned so much in such a short amount of time. It has open my eyes up to a variety of ways I can start and conduct my research. Research is not so scary anymore. In this paper, I’m going to tell you about the things that I have learned and perfected while taking this course.
Choosing a topic is always the first step of any research process. The statement seems simple, but the chosen topic defines all other stages of the process. In order to choose a topic, one has first to identify a problem whose remedy or eradication calls for research. This is then followed by the development of a research question. The question forms the statement that serves as the research topic. The topic, which is the focus of the study, provides keywords for the next stage of research, that is, the literature review.
Plants are autotrophs that mean they are able to synthesize food directly from inorganic compounds, instead of relying on other organisms. They use carbon dioxide gas and water to produce sugars and oxygen
Humans depend on plants in numerous ways. One reason we depend on plants is for consumption. Plants have the unique ability of producing their own food through a process called photosynthesis. In this process, plants are able to produce macromolecules such as carbohydrates that cannot be produced in animals or humans. In humans, the only to gain these macromolecules is to consume plant matter, or consume plant-eating animals (herbivores).
The research has been done with carefulness , scrupulousness and the degree of exactitude in research investigation and It must fulfill the following conditions :
