Evaluate Motivation and Self-Regulation Theories

In today’s society, so many people are continuing their education beyond high school. We realize that in order to make a decent living, a degree is most likely a requirement. In some cases even a bachelor’s degree is not enough to qualify for many positions. Nevertheless, thanks to technology, we now have the option to learn online or in a traditional classroom setting. There are very few differences between the two, and students need to understand that as much time and energy will need to be devoted to the online courses as on a campus. “A 2010 meta-analysis and review of online-learning studies concluded that online learning was as good as or slightly more effective than traditional face-to-face instruction” (Mendenhall, 2011).

Throughout the short story "Young Goodman Brown," written by Nathaniel Hawthorne the main character is searching for Faith in what appears to be an increasingly corrupt world. Faith takes on a double meaning in this story, for Faith is used both as the name of Young Goodman Brown's pretty young wife and the spiritual devotion of Young Goodman Brown to the Puritan Faith. The dual usage of Faith in this short story, along with its theme of devil worship amongst Puritan society draws the reader in, and leaves the story imprinted on his brain for a long time to come.

The virtues of humanity are what define us as a species. Animals can also possess these virtues of selfish, or selfless acts. Call of the Wild perfectly illustrates this through the story as Buck learns to adjust to many owners. The book illustrates humans having virtues of humanity by starting with Judge Miller, a kind, caring pet owner who lets Buck roam free on their “Sun kissed Santa Clara Valley Ranch.”

A common misconception in the eyes of the educational world is that online courses are easily passed with minimal effort. In reality, online courses are held to the same standards as in-person courses and require unwavering self-motivation. Professor Rick Rivera expects these higher-learning criterion to be met by the students taking his online English 1C course. Furthering our education is proving to be more and more on demand, ever since the crash of the economy and a rising number of job losses in the United States. We find that going back to school to higher educate ourselves will result in a better resume and experience to finding a career that works for us and our families. The article I chose talks about motivation in the business world. As It goes in depth of ways to help employees by simply motivating them and how that could be the biggest difference of how they perform in their job. It also talks about the significance of understanding your employee as an individual and human being and what abilities work best for them. As opposed to just focusing on work related tasks and not understanding an employee’s mental approach. The way the article tries to explain it, is by emphasising on 6 factors. Which is communication, professionalism, management style, training, recognition, and fun. Each factor is thoroughly detailed and explains how to effectively use it to help the employee be more successful and how that will ultimately help with the business as a whole. As well touches on that being a good person is the main objective and everything comes after.
