Executive Summary Apple, Inc. is one of the world’s most valuable and respected brands. People stand in line for hours and sometimes days, just to get their hands on the newest Apple device. Introduction Apple, founded in 1976, is one of todays most valuable and admired technology brands. The company started with computers but later evolved to “Apple, Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets “mobile communication and media devices, personal computers, portable digital music players, and sells a variety of related software, services, peripherals, networking solutions, and third-party digital content and applications” (New York Times, n.d.). Apple is responsible for the design, manufacturing and marketing of its products and services.
Though Apple, Inc. is a strong powerhouse in the technology marketplace, they have made some mistakes. The purpose of this analysis is to thoroughly investigate Apple, Inc. an example of information systems management, and determine lessons learned for other enterprise information systems managers.
Apple Case Updates Through further research of Apple, Inc., I was able to determine that updates needed to be made to the case information provided. Many new products and resources have been released since the development of the case information. Those updates are highlighted below.

Apple is a global company represented in many parts of the world, but born in the United States by computer wizards by the names of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak who founded the company back in 1976 (Capon, 2008). The organization deals with the design and sale of computer hardware, software and offers tech support to its customers. Examples of the hardware the company manufactures and sells include mobile phones, personal computers, iPads, tablets and iTunes with associated brands, like the MacBook and iPhones that represent Apple’s driving force towards its success. It is recognized as a brand leader in consumer electronics by the world in terms of quality and customer satisfaction and despite the wide product range, Apple manages each product in a distinct way that is a single business unit (Mittan, 2010).
The purpose of this report is to give an analysis of the major issues that Apple Inc is facing or may face in the future. It includes an overview of the company in terms of external and internal issues and later gives recommendations on how certain issues can be resolved or prevented. The report first gives a brief explanation on the methodology that has been used and is followed by the main findings from the research. The findings include a description of the issue as well as each issue being analyzed through one of the six perspectives. It later follows conclusions about Apple and leads to recommendations that can be followed up to fix certain issues.
Apple Inc. has been dedicated to innovation ever since the company was first formed. Apple's recent breakthroughs were a result of a new technologies convergence upon the "digital hub" strategy (Mortensen, 2010). This strategy has served Apple well; especially during the last few years. The iPad, iPod, and iPhone were all born from this strategy. Furthermore, producing these innovative, user friendly, and design oriented products has earned them a considerable amount of customer loyalty.
