2-1 Short Paper: Aligning a Healthcare Organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values to its Marketing Efforts
2
University Hospital: Temple University The university hospital I chose was Temple University. I chose Temple University as there is also a Temple medical center not too far away from the school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was able to find their mission and values very quickly through a Google search. Temple’s mission is to “educate a vibrant student body and create new knowledge through innovative teaching, research and other creative endeavors” (Temple University). Temple’s value
is to represent the community and their purpose. “They are driven to educate, innovate and evolve” (Temple University). Hospital/Healthcare system:
Main Line Health; Paoli Hospital
The hospital/healthcare system I chose was Paoli Hospital, a main line health hospital which does an amazing job of helping their patients daily. I did not have any trouble pulling their
mission statement and values. “The mission of Main Line Health is to provide a comprehensive range of safe, high-quality health services, complemented by related educational and research activities, that meet health care needs and improve the quality of life in the communities we serve” (Main Line Health).
Not- for- profit community hospital: Ephrata Community Hospital Foundation
For this hospital, the mission and values section were not clear unless you read through their page. The mission and values section did not pop out to me until I started reading what their
hospital focuses on. Ambulatory surgery center: Premier At Exton Surgery Center

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected more than 20 million people worldwide with a death toll of over 700 thousand. Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy is known to reduce the need for mechanical ventilation (MV) in treating hypoxic COVID-19 patients. We present OxyJet CPAP, an electricity-free low-cost noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) system specifically designed for low and middle-income country (LMIC) hospitals. It can provide a 20cm H2O positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP), peak inspiratory flow-rate up to 65 liters/min (LPM), and a fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) of up to 95%. The device utilizes the mechanics of a jet pump driven by high-pressure oxygen to increase the volumetric flow rate by entraining atmospheric air. We use a snorkeling mask (as helmet/hood) to deliver CPAP therapy to reduce aerosolization risk. Although High Flow Nasal Oxygenation (HFNO) is effective in treating severe COVID-19 patients, it is too expensive for public…
