AMAZON VS. WALMART MANAGING ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE 3
There are three different names for those who drive and implement change. You have change agents, change managers, and change leaders. While most people will think that they are all the same, they are not, and they have different roles in dealing with change in the organization. A change agent uses to be referred to as a management consultant from outside of the company who was paid to basically identify what was wrong and fix it by making the necessary changes that needed to be made (Palmer, 2021). Change managers and change leaders are the same and they have the same role in the organization which is to identify what is wrong and how to change
the problem to make it better for the organization. Organizations will hire change managers or promote someone within the company, and they are responsible for implementing needed changes within the organization. According to our textbook, there are six different images of managing change and they are as follows: director, navigator, caretaker, coach, interpreter, and nurturer (Palmer, 2021). The Change Analysis will look at the images to identify what will happen with potential consequences of a change, identify what needs to be changed, and come up with a plan on how to implement the change.

Amazon vs. Walmart Managing Organizational Change
The two companies that I have chosen are Amazon and Walmart. In milestone one we will look at changes in both companies and explain how the changes impacted the companies. I will also look at who was impacted by these changes. Then I will compare similarities and differences between the changes in the two companies. The next step for milestone one will be to prepare a grid of the six different images of managing change. I will choose three of the six images to analyze, compare, and contrast what worked and what did not work for the companies.
The last part of milestone one I will talk about how effective the change was, and what management could have done differently to increase how successful the implementation of the strategic change was.

Director
This image views management as controlling and change outcomes as being achievable as planned. The director steers the organization
toward the desired outcomes. This
can be looked at the change involves a strategic management choice upon which the well-
being and the For Bezos, as director he allowed managers to
make decisions. Once these decisions were made, then they had a decision manager to implement the changes.
McMillion, the CEO of Walmart realized the need for change. He also knew that they needed to stay in front of consumer’s
needs and wants. McMillion had the importance focused on making decisions. Once those decisions were made The pressures of change comes from the
different competitor’s that both Amazon and Walmart may face. To state in front of their
competition both companies
start to focus on innovations and acquisitions. Both companies manage to stay ahead of the game to avoid any stagnation.

survival of the organization depends on it. the mangers was directed to get the changes implemented.
Navigator
The navigator’s
image still deals
with control when it comes to the heart of change management actions. External factors
will allow change managers achieve some of
the intended change outcomes, they will have little control over other results. The outcomes from this image
may be partly emergent rather
than completely
planned and results might come from a variety of influences, competing interests, and processes. Bezos, quit his job and decided to start an online bookstore. He showed no fear when it came to making mistakes. He also felt that managers should be able to assess any anticipated barriers.
McMillion had the knowledge of
what to do for
the business. His change managers had
to have the knowledge on
what to do about the external factors and the results that might come from different influences, competing interests and processes.
While the navigator’s image still deals with control, the external factors
will allow change managers to achieve some of the intended change outcomes. Both companies deal
with competition and they both have faced some changes from different influences and competing interests.
The directions are not made clear so external factors may not allow achievement of some of the intended change outcomes. It may also cause the outcomes to be completely emergent rather than partly emergent. Coach
The coach image feels that
change managers can intentionally shape the organization’s capabilities in certain ways. Jeff Bezos possesses this image. He wants his employees and the people that use McMillion possess the knowledge and ability to direct and navigate. But
the change managers ensures that The companies change managers will help their team’s deal with the pressures of change. They will help by The unintended consequences for a coach’s image are that the goals are not met. Teams can be torn
apart, and frustration may happen.
