Introduction

Rubisco stands for Ribulose 1,5- Bisphosphate Carboxylase/Oxygenase. It has dual activity, it can work as oxygenase as well as carboxylase depending on the concentration of the oxygen and carbon dioxide in the plant.

If it works as oxygenase it forms two products one is 3C which enters the C3 cycle and other 2C product Phosphoglycolate which is a kind of waste to the plant.
