(1)  Constructing sets Cn  and   C  for the set  C = 02, 12, 120, 20, 21

              According to Sardinas - Patterson Theorem:   

                            Cn = w  T+ /  uw = v  where u  C , vCn-1 or  u  Cn-1 , v  C  for                                      

    For  Cn  :   

                        C1 = 0

                        C2=2

                        C3 = 0, 1

                        C4 = 2, 20

                        C5 = 0, 1

  In above code, Repetition of C3 = 0, 1 = C5 = 0, 1  occurs.

That gives Cn = 0, 1  or Cn = 2, 20 for odd or even ternary  n  3

   For  C  : 

                     C = C1  C2  C3  C4

                C =  0, 1, 2, 20

     

The Sardinas-Patterson Theorem states that C code is uniquely decodable if and only if  Cn C    .

Here, Cn C   .  So, C code is not uniquely decodable.
